The People's Committee of Thoai Son commune recently inaugurated an OCOP product showroom on April 25th. The 243.8m2 facility includes main components such as a product display area, shelving system, lighting, and a complete water supply and drainage system, with a total investment of nearly 2.3 billion VND.

The exhibition hall plays a role in introducing and promoting OCOP products and distinctive local agricultural products to consumers and tourists. At the same time, it supports production facilities and cooperatives in connecting with markets and selling their products, gradually increasing the value of goods and contributing to sustainable rural economic development. The facility also aims to serve as a tourist attraction and experience center for visitors from within and outside the locality, especially during festivals. Through this, it contributes to building the image of Thoai Son commune as a destination associated with distinctive agricultural products and local cultural identity.

Simultaneously, Thoai Son commune also possesses an ecosystem of OCOP products deeply rooted in local cultural identity. Local production facilities proactively build and maintain brand quality, creating strong products highly valued by consumers. Typical examples of products recognized as OCOP standard in the commune include 7 Chop dried snakehead fish, exquisite artworks made from palm leaf paintings by Vo Van Tang, Tri Thuc reishi mushroom health care products, Vuong Kim nutritious teas and ginseng wine, and traditional specialties such as fresh and grilled spring rolls by Hung Vi. These are distinctive products with the potential to further increase added value, expand market share, and reach a wider market.

Behind the success of each OCOP product lies a long story of dedication, entrepreneurial aspirations, and the perseverance of farmers in overcoming difficulties. The story of Ms. Vuong Kim Dinh, owner of the Vuong Kim brand of Centella tea and wine, is a prime example. Ms. Dinh shared that to produce high-quality Centella tea, the leaf selection process is quite rigorous; the leaves must be mature, fresh, green, not too young, and free from pests and diseases. After selection, the leaves are washed, dried, and then the tea is dried. In the early days, the tea drying process caused her many failures. Just controlling the fire and adjusting the temperature was very difficult, because a slight mistake could ruin the entire batch of tea. Undeterred by the challenges, Ms. Dinh accumulated experience through each failure to achieve success. At the same time, she proactively invested about 50 million VND in specialized drying, grinding, and pressing machines to standardize the production process and improve product quality.

To empower individuals like Ms. Kim Dinh to confidently move forward on their journey of innovation, the Provincial Farmers' Association conducts surveys and provides consulting and support for the development of ecological and sustainable agriculture for businesses in the green and circular agriculture sector. The focus is on supporting the design and development of brand image, improving product designs and packaging; and guiding market connections to expand distribution channels.

In addition, the Provincial Farmers' Association advises on solutions to extend product shelf life through the application of biological preparations and environmentally friendly packaging materials; and guides the process of registering for sustainable production certification to increase the added value of processed products. Businesses also receive advice on loan support policies and how to access government support programs.

Thoai Son commune is taking concrete and steady steps in implementing the "One Commune, One Product" program. The close combination of modern display infrastructure and environmentally friendly production thinking creates a strong leverage to enhance the competitiveness of local products and create a stable market for OCOP products.
