In the 71st minute, after a pass from Adrian Segecic, Maung Maung Lwin rushed down, escaped the pursuit of Man Utd's defense and coolly finished past goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
The Myanmar striker scored the only goal to bring victory to the Southeast Asian All-Stars team against Man Utd in a friendly match at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Malaysia) on the evening of May 28.

Born on June 18, 1995, Maung Maung Lwin is the only Myanmar player called up by coach Kim Sang Sik to the Southeast Asian All-Star team to play a friendly match with Man Utd.
Maung Maung Lwin started his career at Hantharwady United, then moved to Yangon United, winning the domestic league with the club. Renowned for his skillful technique, versatile ball control and sharp tactical vision, Maung quickly attracted the attention of clubs.
Since 2021, Maung has moved to Thai League to play for Lamphun Warriors and become the first Myanmar player to win this tournament abroad.

Maung was called up to the Myanmar national team in 2015 and scored his first goal for Myanmar in June 2016 against Hong Kong. Just two years later, Maung officially captained the Myanmar team in international friendlies in October 2018 against Bolivia and Bahrain.
At the 2022 AFF Cup, Maung scored a brace in a 2-3 loss to Singapore. At the 2024 AFF Cup, he scored from a direct free kick against the Philippines. He is known for his ability to take free kicks very effectively.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFF) Instagram page posted a picture of Maung Maung Lwin celebrating his goal against Man Utd, attracting a lot of comments from fans. The Myanmar striker's personal Facebook page also skyrocketed to more than 85,000 followers.
"Myanmar's new history has been written. You are the idol of the next generation of young amateur stars in Myanmar," a Myanmar fan expressed about Maung Maung Lwin's mark after the match against Man Utd.
