Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine Tran Cong Tam said: Currently, Dan Hoa and Bac Gianh communes have gone through 21 days without any new outbreaks. Up to this point, most large-scale and medium-scale pig farms with high technology, closed-cell farming, and non-contact farming have not had pigs infected with ASF. However, the risk of the disease recurring and spreading is still very high due to unfavorable weather conditions, slow vaccination in some places, unsafe barn systems, and limited disease prevention awareness among people.
Currently, the agricultural sector and localities are still making efforts to drastically implement disease prevention and control measures in accordance with regulations. In particular, 47 communes and wards have signed labor contracts with 82 commune-level veterinary staff and 19 officers with livestock and veterinary expertise from the Agriculture and Environment sector to the grassroots, contributing significantly to disease prevention for local livestock.
