Gasoline prices increase slightly, oil prices decrease simultaneously in the operating period of August 21

During the August 21 adjustment period, gasoline prices were adjusted up slightly, with the highest level being VND208 per liter. On the contrary, prices of oil products decreased simultaneously, with kerosene down VND206 per liter, diesel down VND172 per liter, and fuel oil down VND152 per kilogram.

On the afternoon of August 21, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued urgent document No. 6269/BCT-TTTN to key traders and distributors of gasoline and oil regarding the management of domestic retail gasoline and oil prices.

Accordingly, from 3:00 p.m. on August 21, 2025, the maximum retail price for petroleum products will be applied as follows:

E5RON92 gasoline: no higher than VND 19,464/liter (increase of VND 110/liter compared to current base price);

RON95-III gasoline: no higher than VND 20,092/liter (an increase of VND 208/liter compared to the current base price);

Diesel 0.05S: not higher than VND 17,905/liter (down VND 172/liter compared to current base price);

Kerosene: not higher than VND 17,814/liter (down VND 206/liter compared to current base price);

Mazut oil 180CST 3.5S: not higher than 15,116 VND/kg (152 VND/kg lower than current base price).

In light of recent developments in world petroleum product prices and the implementation of petroleum price management according to the market mechanism under State management, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance decided that in the adjustment period of August 21, 2025, no provisions will be made and no expenditures will be made from the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for all products.

The adjustment of retail gasoline prices is decided by key traders and distributors, but cannot be made earlier than 3:00 p.m. on August 21, 2025.

The time to apply the new base price will last until the next announcement period of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Enterprises will adjust prices in accordance with the provisions of current Decrees and Circulars on the management of petroleum business and the use of the Price Stabilization Fund.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect and monitor the implementation of regulations on ensuring petroleum supply, and strictly handle violations if detected.
