Minister Nguyen Van Hung: Determined and striving to successfully carry out major events on September 2nd

VHO - On the afternoon of August 20, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung chaired a meeting to review the organization of anniversaries and major events of the Ministry on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Also attending the meeting were Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh; Deputy Ministers Trinh Thi Thuy, Hoang Dao Cuong, Ho An Phong, Phan Tam; and leaders of units under the Ministry.

At the meeting, the Ministry's leaders reviewed the organization of events: The 80th Anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025); The National Achievements Exhibition; The Political Art Program on September 1 at My Dinh Stadium and listened to a report on the preparation of the dossier for the National Target Program on Cultural Development.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung chaired the meeting.

Accordingly, the 80th Anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day will take place on the morning of August 23 at the Hanoi Opera House.

The event not only honors the great contributions of previous generations but also continues and promotes the glorious tradition of the industry.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported on the progress of work serving the 80th Anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day.

Leaders of relevant units presented reports on preparations for guest work, mockups, documentaries, propaganda, emulation and rewards, art programs, photo exhibitions, etc.

Also at the meeting, the Minister, Deputy Ministers and leaders of units approved and contributed opinions on a number of work items such as: design, fonts, documentaries, etc.

The 20-minute documentary summarizes the 80-year journey of the Cultural Sector, under the leadership of the Party and the State, through many stages, accompanying the nation to overcome difficulties and challenges, contributing to the development of the country and leaving behind remarkable achievements. It is expected that this film will also be shown on VTV on the evening of August 20.

To spread the contributions of the cultural sector, press propaganda work has also been promoted. A representative of the Press Department said that there is a plan to promote the 80th anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day to press agencies inside and outside the Ministry.

Regarding the preparation for the concert program "Vietnam in me" which will take place on August 26 at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh commune, Hanoi), a representative of the Department of Performing Arts reported that there is a content program, which will gather top stars to participate.

To ensure the concert is of high quality, the Department will continue to send the Ministry's leaders and related units for appraisal, comments, preliminary review and final rehearsal before the official performance.

Regarding the Opening Ceremony of the National Achievements Exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day with the theme Radiant Vietnam: 80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness on August 28 at the National Exhibition Center, the leader of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition reported that the construction progress has been basically completed. The rehearsal will take place on August 26.

The opening and closing programs have been invited and specific work contents have been assigned to each participating unit. The opening program will take place at 9:00 a.m. on August 28 with the participation of Party and State leaders and many guests from domestic departments, ministries, branches, localities and international guests. The opening ceremony is expected to be broadcast on Vietnam Television and Voice of Vietnam .

In addition, at the Opening Ceremony of the National Achievements Exhibition, there will also be an art program, which has been assigned and is being urgently completed.

Regarding the political art program to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, taking place on the evening of September 1 at My Dinh, the Department of Performing Arts is also coordinating with relevant units to carefully and thoroughly implement it.

In addition, it also participates in the Parade and March of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector, and is currently actively practicing and training according to schedule to ensure quality in the country's major events.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Hung acknowledged the efforts of the units in organizing the anniversaries and major events on the occasion of the 80th National Day, September 2.

Regarding the 80th Anniversary of the Cultural Sector’s Traditional Day, this is an important event, an occasion for the Cultural Sector to express gratitude. The Minister requested that the assigned units review the workload, focus all human resources of the sector to complete the work well, avoid mistakes, and bring truly meaningful programs that leave an impression.

Besides, the Minister also requested that units need to be proactive in accordance with their functions, tasks, and operating scenarios to complete assigned tasks well.

Regarding art programs, the Minister suggested being careful, not being subjective, choosing appropriate, delicate, and high-caliber songs...

Safety and security must be ensured and given top priority. The program script must be reviewed and approved carefully at many levels to receive timely comments and adjustments if any.

Because important events take place in large spaces, the Minister also requires that the reception of guests must be thoughtful and professional.

Regarding the National Target Program on culture, the Minister proposed that there should be synchronous coordination between units within the Ministry as well as outside the Ministry according to the assigned tasks to implement according to the set plan.
