Levosum thyroid drug batch destroyed due to quality violations

(CPV) - The Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ) has decided to impose administrative penalties on Samnam Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd and destroy the entire batch of Levosum thyroid medicine due to quality violations.

Specifically, Levosum tablets (Levothyroxine sodium 0.1mg) help supplement thyroid hormones, used for replacement treatment in cases of hypothyroidism... In December 2022, the Drug Administration of Vietnam also issued an official dispatch requesting a nationwide recall of the batch of Levosum tablets (Levothyroxine sodium 0.1mg) due to quality violations.

According to the Drug Administration of Vietnam, Samnam Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. produces Levosum tablets (Levothyroxine sodium 0.1mg), GĐKLH number: VN-22010-19, batch number: E27621012, NSX 08/7/2021, EXP 07/7/2024, violating level 2 quality according to the provisions of law.

Therefore, it is required to destroy the entire batch of Levosum tablets (Levothyroxine sodium 0.1mg), GĐKLH number: VN-22010-19, Batch number: E27621012, NSX 08/7/2021, EXP 07/7/2024 for violating quality.

Samnam Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd (representing the administrative penalty enforcement is T&C Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Trading Joint Stock Company) located in Cau Giay District, Hanoi, coordinates with relevant units to remedy the consequences and report the implementation results to the Department of Drug Administration within 30 days from the date of issuance of this decision.

Along with the request to destroy the batch of Levosum thyroid medicine, the Drug Administration also decided to administratively fine Samnam Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd 70,000,000 VND./.
