TikToker Dan Thy shared in a video that she has leukemia. |
TikToker Dan Thy recently posted a nearly 3-minute video on her personal page to announce that she has leukemia. Gone are the transformation videos and cheerful content she usually posts; this appearance by the TikToker surprised many followers as she opened up about her current health condition.
At the beginning of the video, Dan Thy stated that talking about her illness was "difficult to talk about" and "a little terrifying" for her. The TikToker, born in 2003, admitted that the shock of her illness came as a complete surprise, especially since she is at the prime of her life, a period she calls "the most brilliant time of her life."
In the video, Dan Thy also emotionally shared that she wanted to capture her current appearance before embarking on a long treatment journey, which could involve hair loss or changes in her appearance.
However, the 23-year-old girl insisted that the clip was not meant to complain or be pessimistic. According to her, she publicly revealed her illness for two reasons. Firstly, to inform everyone that in the near future, she will likely be unable to post videos regularly or continue her work as before. Secondly, she wanted her story to serve as a warning about the unhealthy lifestyles that many young people are prone to today.

There were days when she had to stay up until 6 or 7 in the morning, frequently took late-night showers, and barely drank any water. Instead, her daily routine consisted of bubble tea, matcha latte, and other sugary drinks.
"I drank 4-5 glasses a day continuously for 3 years. I almost never drank bottled water," she shared.
The female TikToker stated that she doesn't use stimulants, still considers herself young and healthy, and therefore isn't overly concerned about her health.
