Young people step out of their "comfort zone"
Immediately after graduating from university with a major in Automotive Technology, Mr. Hoang Anh (Ward 5, Tan An City) registered to study Japanese language and Japanese culture at Hasu Asia Company Limited, Ho Chi Minh City. During his studies, the Long An Employment Service Center (TTDVVL) created conditions for him to study a 3-month Welding certificate. This helped him gain more experience and skills to easily pass interviews with foreign companies that need to recruit workers in Long An.
Mr. Hoang Anh confided: “The decision to work in Japan has been in my mind since my third year of university. That is why I have researched information and conditions for working abroad. For me, working abroad is an exciting experience; at the same time, it is also an opportunity to improve my skills and accumulate capital.
When I go to Japan, I plan to study Japanese on my own, determined to get the N2 certificate. After returning home, I will apply to work at a Japanese company, and I am sure that my income will be paid accordingly.
Mr. Pham Van Tiep Khac, residing in Thuan My commune, Chau Thanh district (front row, second from left) is studying Japanese to prepare to work abroad.
Sharing the same thought with Mr. Hoang Anh, Mr. Pham Van Tiep Khac (Thuan My commune, Chau Thanh district) just graduated from vocational college in April 2025, immediately registered to study Japanese with the determination to go to work abroad in 2025. Initially, his parents did not agree because they were afraid that their son would work far from home and have a hard time, but with determination, Khac convinced his family.
Khac confided: “After graduating from vocational school, it is easy to find a job, but the income is much lower than working abroad. More importantly, working abroad, I also accumulate work experience, professional skills, sense of organization and discipline, industrial style, foreign language proficiency, work attitude and social knowledge. I worked in Vietnam for 3 years and it was difficult to accumulate 300 million VND, but working in Japan, I definitely can do it.”
Being dynamic and bold in stepping out of their “comfort zone”, many young people have chosen to work abroad to establish themselves and their careers. We are confident that with the knowledge they have, they will make many marks on their journey of living and working in the land of cherry blossoms.
Community responsibility
Long An Vocational Training Center and Long An College are two units that play an important role in implementing the Project on Sending Laborers to Work Abroad under Contract in Long An Province for the period 2020-2025. Accordingly, every year, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Department of Home Affairs) assigns clear and specific tasks and responsibilities to each unit.
Japanese enterprises visit Long An College
Specifically, from 2024 to present, Long An Employment Service Center has coordinated with companies and enterprises with the function of sending workers to work abroad to organize consultations and introduce occupations that foreign companies and enterprises are recruiting with 125 sessions, attracting more than 17,200 participants.
At the same time, the Center also coordinated with the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Women's Union, etc. to advise and propagate issues related to sending workers to work abroad, with more than 3,000 participants.
Deputy Director of Hasu Asia Co., Ltd. - Truong Nhat Tai said: "Currently, the Company has a need to recruit a large number of workers to work abroad in industries such as mechanics, electricity, electronics, agriculture , and construction. Through the cooperation process with Long An Employment Service Center, the Company has received a lot of support, in which the workers introduced by the Center are consulted very meticulously and have good quality. Since then, the Company's customers prefer to choose workers in Long An."
Japanese enterprises directly come to Long An Employment Service Center to interview and recruit workers.
Implementing the project, in 2020, Long An College signed a contract with Esuhai Company Limited to open representative offices and training centers at educational institutions under Long An College. This helps students, employees in the province to learn Japanese, receive orientation education, and receive vocational skills training locally, thereby contributing to reducing costs and time for learners.
Principal of Long An College - Le Quoc Hung said: “All first-year students are trained in soft skills: learning objectives, practicing industrial style to meet the needs of employers, especially the Japanese market; organizing free Japanese classes. Final-year students will be consulted on career orientation in Japan. With the above solutions, the number of students registering to study Japanese and participating in working in Japan has increased.
From the beginning of 2025 until now, the school has coordinated with Esuhai Company Limited to implement policies, benefits of the DA and recruitment orders for more than 1,300 soldiers and police officers preparing to be discharged from the army; trained Japanese for 56 students and employees in the province; trained 13 interns who are students and youths of Long An, including 5 students of the school; sent 8 students abroad, ...".
In 2024, the whole province will send 1,179 workers to work abroad. Accumulated from 2020 to now, the whole province has sent 2,957 workers to work abroad. |
Keep up the good work
The effectiveness of the project has been affirmed by all levels, sectors and people. However, comparing the results with the targets set in the project on sending workers to work abroad under contracts in Long An province for the period 2020-2025, it has not been achieved. Specifically, in 2024, it reached 58.95% (1,179/2,000); the whole period up to now has reached 53.76% (2,957/5,500).
Director of Long An Employment Service Center - Tran Van Tieng said: “Long An has many industrial parks and clusters, so the demand for labor recruitment of companies and enterprises is very large, thereby bringing many job opportunities for local workers. Some temporary work abroad programs have not been widely and promptly disseminated to localities and people. This has led to not creating a strong ripple effect and forming a vibrant work abroad movement like some other provinces. Information, consultation and propaganda work about work opportunities abroad have not really been effective”.
From 2020 to present, the province has sent 2,957 workers to work abroad.
Sending workers to work abroad under contracts is a major policy of the Party and the State. This is an effective and breakthrough solution in job creation, income increase, and sustainable poverty reduction . However, reality affirms that sending workers to work abroad still faces many difficulties and challenges, requiring shared responsibility from all levels and sectors.
Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs - Nguyen Dai Tanh informed: "In 2025, the province strives to create a source and send 2,000 workers to work abroad under contracts. To achieve this goal, the Department of Home Affairs will coordinate with relevant departments and branches to advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue documents to direct and manage the implementation and effective implementation.
At the same time, the Department will guide agencies, units, localities and employees to prepare payment procedures and settle support funds, especially confirm loan applications for employees working abroad under contracts"./.
