Today's pepper prices, updated on the afternoon of May 8, 2025, show that the domestic pepper market is maintaining a stable and sideways state after many previous sessions of fluctuations. The domestic pepper market is maintaining a stable state.

Specifically, today's pepper price in Gia Lai province has not changed compared to the previous trading session, remaining stable at 153,000 VND/kg. This shows that this area has passed the previous period of slight decline and is entering a stable cycle, bringing a positive signal to local pepper growers. Similarly, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, pepper prices also recorded a stable trend, with little fluctuation compared to previous trading sessions, with the current purchase price of 153,000 VND/kg. This sideways movement may be the result of the market's supply and demand being in a state of balance, not greatly affected by external factors.

In Binh Phuoc, pepper prices today also remained stable compared to yesterday, reaching 153,000 VND/kg. This shows that this region is continuing to maintain its price level, reflecting the uniformity in pepper market trends in the southern provinces. Meanwhile, in the two provinces of Dak Lak and Dak Nong, pepper prices continued to remain slightly higher, reaching 155,000 VND/kg, and also did not record any changes in many consecutive trading sessions. This price level shows that these two Central Highlands regions are still bright spots in the pepper market, with higher purchasing prices than other provinces, reflecting good pepper quality and stable demand from exporters.

In general, pepper prices today, May 8, 2025, in key areas show a stable market without major fluctuations. This sideways trend could be a positive signal, helping farmers feel secure in production and traders easily plan business strategies in the coming time. However, pepper growers need to continue to closely monitor factors such as weather, export demand and global price fluctuations to make appropriate adjustments in cultivation and sales strategies. With the current stability, the Vietnamese pepper market has the opportunity to consolidate its position on the global pepper export map.

In the world market, pepper prices today, May 8, 2025, recorded little fluctuation, with many countries maintaining stable prices, except for the Indonesian market, which witnessed a slight decrease. Specifically, in Indonesia, black pepper prices reached 7,322 USD/ton, down 0.37%, equivalent to 191,471 VND/kg, while white pepper prices also decreased by 0.37%, reaching 9,917 USD/ton, equivalent to 259,330 VND/kg. In contrast, other major markets such as Brazil, Malaysia and Vietnam all kept prices stable. In Brazil, ASTA 570 black pepper reached 6,800 USD/ton, equivalent to 177,820 VND/kg. Malaysia recorded ASTA black pepper prices at USD 9,200/ton (VND 240,580/kg) and ASTA white pepper at USD 11,900/ton (VND 311,185/kg). In Vietnam, the prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l black pepper were USD 6,700/ton (VND 175,205/kg) and USD 6,800/ton (VND 177,820/kg), respectively, while ASTA white pepper was USD 9,700/ton (VND 253,655/kg), both unchanged.

In the medium and long term, pepper prices are expected to remain high today thanks to stable demand from major consumer markets such as the US, EU, and the Middle East, along with supply showing no signs of increasing sharply again. According to data from the Customs Department, in the first 4 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 73,647 tons of pepper, earning 508.36 million USD. Although output decreased by 11.3% compared to the same period in 2024, export value increased sharply by 44.4% thanks to the average pepper price reaching 6,903 USD/ton, up 62.7%. In April 2025 alone, pepper prices reached 6,968 USD/ton, down slightly by 0.5% compared to the previous month but still 57.1% higher than the same period last year.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), world pepper prices in April 2025 fluctuated quite strongly: after falling in the first half of the month, prices recovered at the end of the month, although they were still lower than the end of the previous month. According to the assessment, pepper prices increased due to a decrease in supply after the harvest and farmers' psychology of holding goods waiting for higher prices. Meanwhile, the world market remained stable at a high level, creating momentum to push up domestic prices. Experts said that if demand from major markets such as the Middle East and Europe continues to increase strongly in the second quarter of 2025, today's pepper prices may continue to increase, bringing many opportunities for Vietnam's pepper export industry in the coming time.

News, pepper price forecast on May 9, 2025, domestic and world pepper prices have little fluctuation

Pepper prices on May 9, 2025 are not expected to have many major changes in the world market, but some countries may increase or decrease slightly. According to information from the International Pepper Association (IPC) on the afternoon of May 8, 2025, pepper prices in many places are stable, not fluctuating much. However, in Indonesia alone, black pepper prices have decreased slightly, losing about 50 to 68 USD per ton compared to the previous days when it was quite stable. Specifically, the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper is currently at 7,322 USD/ton, while Muntok white pepper is purchased at 9,917 USD/ton.

In other countries, pepper prices remain stable. In Malaysia, ASTA black pepper is at $9,200/ton and ASTA white pepper is at $11,900/ton. Brazil also has no change, with black pepper prices at $6,800/ton. In Vietnam, pepper export prices are also quite stable, with 500 g/l black pepper priced at $6,700/ton, 550 g/l at $6,800/ton, and white pepper at $9,700/ton. With this situation, domestic pepper prices tomorrow, ie May 9, 2025, will likely remain at the current level or only change very slightly, about 200 to 500 VND per kg in some places such as Gia Lai or Ba Ria - Vung Tau, where prices are at their lowest level in the recent short period.

However, the possibility of a sharp price drop is not high because there are many factors that are helping pepper prices on May 9, 2025 to remain stable. Firstly, pepper export volume is still good, while domestic pepper volume is not much because farmers are not in a hurry to sell in the middle of the harvest season, and pepper reserves are not large. Currently, pepper prices in the world are high due to less pepper production, while demand remains stable. In Vietnam, Indonesia and Brazil, pepper output has decreased because pepper trees are old, many people have switched to other crops, and the weather has also affected the crop.

Meanwhile, countries that buy a lot of pepper such as China, the US and the EU are still importing goods regularly. In particular, since mid-April 2025, China has started buying more, and this could help the pepper price on May 9, 2025 continue to be supported in the coming time. For farmers, the advice is to sell pepper in batches when the price is good, not to keep all the goods or sell all at once. Exporting enterprises should find new markets such as the Middle East, India and Eastern Europe to reduce business risks. In general, the pepper price on May 9, 2025 is forecasted to be stable, bringing good opportunities for both growers and businesses if they know how to take advantage.
