UK is the only 'valid' candidate to host the 2035 World Cup

In March this year, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland submitted bids to host the 2035 Women's World Cup. Under FIFA's rotation rules, the tournament must be held in either Europe or Africa.

FIFA President Infantino recently said that the deadline for submitting bids has passed and the UK is the only country bidding to host the 2035 Women's World Cup, while the US will host the tournament in 2031.

FA chief executive Mark Bullingham said: "We are honoured to be the sole bidder for the 2035 Women's World Cup. We will start working hard now to deliver the best possible bid by the end of the year."

Defender Gabriel will be out for the rest of the season after Arsenal confirmed he will undergo hamstring surgery. The Brazilian star was substituted in the first half of Arsenal's 2-1 win over Fulham at the Emirates on 2 April.

Gabriel has started 28 of Arsenal's 30 Premier League games this season, helping the Gunners to the best defensive record in the league, conceding just 25 goals.

Gabriel's absence could have a significant impact on Arsenal. Statistics from the Premier League Injuries website show that Arsenal's win rate drops significantly when Gabriel is not on the pitch.

Specifically, since his league debut, Arsenal have won 63.5% of the 159 games he has played, but only 40.9% of the 22 games he has been absent.

The world's top 20 tennis players from the ATP and WTA have sent a letter demanding an increase in prize money at the four Grand Slam tournaments because they believe there is an unfair distribution of revenue from these tournaments.

The four Grand Slam tournaments: Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open distribute only 17% of revenue to athletes. This is a very low number compared to the 35% - 50% of other sports .

World No. 11 Emma Navarro said: "I've spoken to other colleagues and we think it's a good idea to sign. I think it's a good reason for us to come together to make sure we're treated fairly."

Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen (ranked 8th in the world) said the increase in prize money would benefit all players. "This is especially beneficial for those who need money from Grand Slams to survive," she said.
