Practicing thrift and combating waste is a major policy of the Party. Since the beginning of the reform process, the Central Committee, the Politburo , and the Secretariat of various terms have issued numerous directives, resolutions, and conclusions on preventing and combating waste.
In his recent article "Combating Waste," General Secretary To Lam stated that throughout all stages of the revolution, the Party and State have always paid special attention to the prevention and combating of waste, issuing numerous resolutions, directives, and conclusions on this issue, and leading the entire political system and the whole population in organizing its implementation, achieving many positive results.
In response to the need to strengthen resources and unleash the people's potential to usher the country into a new era under the leadership of the Party, the fight against waste is facing new, urgent, and pressing demands and tasks.
With its crucial role in state management of industry and trade, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has actively implemented activities to promote and practice thrift and combat waste, which have been recognized by experts and the business community.
Speaking on the sidelines of the forum "Ministry of Industry and Trade: Combating Waste, Unlocking Development Resources," organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the morning of December 23rd, Mr. Le Truong Thuy, Chairman and General Director of Mai Chau Hydropower Joint Stock Company, emphasized that the event was held very timely, as the Party and State leaders have issued strong and clear messages on combating waste and promoting thrift, leading the country into a new era.

The forum also helps boost business morale, encourage innovation and greater flexibility in operations, especially in saving and preventing waste in production and business activities. " For example, a project that previously took a company 2-3 years to implement can now be shortened to 1 year, which significantly saves resources ," Mr. Thuy said.
To realize the Party and State's orientation of combating waste, strengthening savings, utilizing resources, and efficiently exploiting resources in enterprises, in addition to the hydropower sector, Mai Chau Hydropower Joint Stock Company focuses on land exploitation and investment in tourism development in Hoa Binh and Mai Chau.
In particular, Hoa Binh province has very favorable conditions for tourism development with its waterfalls, lakes, and islands. The locality has also identified tourism as a key economic sector and strives to become a popular tourist destination in the near future. Furthermore, a highway is planned from Hoa Binh to Moc Chau, reducing travel time from Hanoi to Moc Chau to just over an hour, which will greatly facilitate travel.
Seeing these opportunities, Mai Chau Hydropower Joint Stock Company has utilized the land to invest in building a resort with 30 villas, 80 apartments, and several stilt houses. With such a scale, we can accommodate over 500 tourists at a time. The resort is expected to be ready to welcome guests during the Lunar New Year of 2025. Revenue is projected to reach several billion VND per month. This provides resources for the company, meets social needs, and avoids wasting the country's natural resources.
" Saving and combating waste can be practiced in many business activities. What's important is the awareness and determination of the business owner as well as all staff and employees in implementing it daily ," Mr. Thuy emphasized.
