On April 11, Yen Nhan commune (Yen Mo) and Yen Su village people held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of ranking as a provincial-level historical-cultural relic of Yen Su communal house and palace and the traditional festival on March 3, the year of Giap Thin. The Yen Su village communal house and palace relics are also called the West communal house and the West temple because they are located in the west of the village. The Yen Su village palace is also called the Mother palace and the Mother temple.
According to the genealogy of the clans in Yen Su village, the communal house dates back to the Le dynasty, initially made of bamboo and thatch (the people called it the Tay temple) as a place to worship Cau Mang Dai Vuong and the Four Holy Mothers, the Three Holy Mothers and the saints of the Tam Phu mother worship system. In the second year of Gia Long (1803), the people renovated and rebuilt the communal house with spacious wood, the palace was built with wood from 1908.
Over the centuries, due to the impact of weather, humans, and the destruction of war, the relic has been degraded, but with the timely efforts of the Party Committee, government, and local people, the relic has been rebuilt and restored many times. The most recent time was in 2000, when people restored and rebuilt the entire Yen Su Communal House relic.
Yen Su Communal House and Palace are located in the traditional village cultural space of the Northern Delta. Currently, the Yen Su Communal House and Palace relics still preserve 21 royal decrees for the gods. The relics also preserve statues, artifacts, and ancient worship objects of historical and cultural value.
The architecture of the relic still retains original elements such as the Yen Su village palace built in 1908 in the architectural style of the Nguyen Dynasty.
This relic has long been a place for cultural and religious activities of the villagers, contributing to educating future generations about the good traditions and ethics of the nation...
With the historical and cultural significance and value of the Yen Su Communal House and Palace, on December 28, 2023, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee signed Decision No. 1111/QD-UBND to rank the Yen Su Communal House and Palace Historical Relic, Yen Nhan Commune, Yen Mo District as a provincial-level relic.
At the ceremony, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Bui Mai Hoa awarded the Certificate of ranking as a provincial-level historical-cultural relic of Yen Su village's communal house and palace to representatives of Yen Su village.
Along with the ceremony to receive the Provincial Monument Ranking Certificate, Yen Su village also organized the village's traditional festival. During the period from April 11 to April 13 (ie March 3 to March 5 of the lunar calendar), many festival activities took place such as: worshiping, folk games such as chess, cockfighting, pontoon bridge, catching chickens, ducks, smashing clay pots and cultural and artistic exchanges...
