The high traffic density while each direction has only two lanes causes frequent congestion on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Expressway, which cannot guarantee the permitted speed. The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has recently agreed to soon expand the expressway from 4 to 6 lanes to resolve the above situation.
