According to VEC, during the recent September 2nd holiday, the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway led in terms of the number of vehicles, with more than 410,700 vehicles; followed by Noi Bai - Lao Cai with 379,800 vehicles; Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay with more than 397,000 vehicles passing through; Da Nang - Quang Ngai welcomed nearly 51,370 vehicles. The Ben Luc - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway alone, although it was just put into operation on August 10th, recorded more than 88,000 vehicles passing through.
VEC representative affirmed that despite the sharp increase in traffic, the expressway system still operates safely and smoothly. Only at some gateways such as Cau Gie - Ninh Binh and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, there were local congestions due to the sudden increase in traffic volume and more than 7,400 cases of insufficient funds in ETC accounts. However, all situations were handled quickly, without prolonged congestion.

Notably, during the holiday, no serious accidents were recorded; the number of collisions and injuries decreased compared to the previous year. The ETC toll collection system was generally stable, with only a short incident at Ha Lam station (Da Nang - Quang Ngai ) but it did not affect toll collection operations.
The above mentioned parameters are assessed as the result of careful preparation before the holiday. Specifically, VEC has assigned its affiliated units to deploy many safety measures, while advising people to limit travel during rush hours, regularly monitor traffic information and maintain ETC account balances to avoid congestion.
"The results of the September 2nd holiday show the effective coordination between the management unit and the functional forces, contributing to ensuring "safe - smooth - convenient" traffic for the travel, trade and tourism needs of the people. In the coming time, VEC will continue to improve its operational capacity, perfect the automatic toll collection system, aiming at the goal of safe, efficient and sustainable highway operation," said a VEC representative.
