According to VEC, during the recent September 2nd holiday, the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway led in terms of vehicle volume, with over 410,700 vehicles; followed by Noi Bai - Lao Cai with 379,800 vehicles; Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay with over 397,000 vehicles; and Da Nang - Quang Ngai with nearly 51,370 vehicles. The Ben Luc - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, despite only opening on August 10th, also recorded over 88,000 vehicles.
Representatives from VEC affirmed that despite the significant increase in traffic volume, the expressway system continued to operate safely and smoothly. Only at some gateways, such as Cau Gie - Ninh Binh and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, localized congestion occurred due to a sudden surge in vehicles and over 7,400 cases of insufficient funds in ETC accounts. However, all situations were handled quickly, preventing prolonged traffic jams.

Notably, no serious accidents were recorded during the holiday period; the number of collisions and injuries decreased compared to the previous year. The ETC toll collection system was generally stable, with only one brief incident at the Ha Lam toll station (Da Nang - Quang Ngai ), but it did not affect toll collection operations.
The aforementioned figures are considered the result of thorough preparation before the holiday. Specifically, VEC assigned its subordinate units to implement various safety measures, while also advising people to limit travel during peak hours, regularly monitor traffic information, and maintain sufficient balance in their ETC accounts to avoid congestion.
"The results of the September 2nd holiday show the effective coordination between the management unit and functional forces, contributing to ensuring 'safe, smooth, and convenient' traffic for the travel, trade, and tourism needs of the people. In the future, VEC will continue to improve operational capacity, perfect the automated toll collection system, aiming for safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of the expressway," a VEC representative said.
