(QBĐT) - According to the provincial Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection, the province has been granted 11 growing area codes with an area of nearly 34 hectares, mainly for products such as: rice, vegetables, turmeric and lotus. The growing areas granted codes are implemented by the locality according to VietGAP and food safety certification, committed to safe production to serve the domestic market.
In which, Le Thuy district has 2 rice growing areas (Phong Thuy commune), 1 turmeric growing area (Mai Thuy commune), 1 lotus growing area (Xuan Thuy commune); Quang Ninh has 1 rice growing area (Luong Ninh commune), 1 vegetable growing area (Vo Ninh commune); Tuyen Hoa has 2 rice growing areas (Mai Hoa commune, Chau Hoa commune); Bo Trach has 1 rice growing area (Bac Trach commune); Ba Don town has 2 rice growing areas (Quang Hai commune, Quang Tan commune).
Head of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of the province, Ho Khac Minh, said: Coding the growing area brings many practical benefits to farmers, such as: Standardizing the process of caring for and managing crops, livestock, and growing areas, as well as providing standard procedures for care; warning about disease situations, planning care, a list of permitted pesticides, and estimating productivity...
The assigned growing area code is an identification code for a growing area to monitor production status, control product quality, and trace the origin of crops - this is considered a "passport" for agricultural products. The growing area code is one of the criteria for evaluating and recognizing communes that meet advanced new rural standards and model new rural standards.
