Comrade Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the City People's Committee, delivered a speech at the honoring ceremony.

Attending the ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee, along with leaders of departments, agencies, Hue University, Hue Central Hospital, and outstanding intellectuals in the area.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Ho Dac Thai Hoang, Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hue City, emphasized the role of the intellectual workforce as the "national lifeblood." Hue City currently possesses a strong force of over 15,000 people directly involved in scientific research. Especially in the context of implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo , science and technology are identified as a prerequisite for the nation to enter a new era of progress.

Honoring 12 outstanding science and technology intellectuals for the 10th time, 2026

In 2026, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hue City received 19 nominations from units and organizations throughout the city. As a result, 12 scientists, including 2 foreign intellectuals, were selected by the Council to be nominated for the title of Outstanding Intellectual in Science and Technology for the 10th time in 2026. This is a well-deserved reward for the dedicated, serious, and persistent scientific work and practical contributions of the honored individuals to the socio-economic development of the city.

Over 10 editions, the city has honored 145 outstanding intellectuals, including 26 professors, 52 associate professors, 30 doctors, 18 masters, and 19 individuals who are reputable scientists and experts. Notably, among them are 12 professors and 3 foreign experts.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan assessed that the team of science and technology intellectuals has always been a core force and a particularly important resource in the cause of building and developing the city in particular and the country in general. Maintaining the ceremony honoring outstanding science and technology intellectuals for the past 10 years has extremely practical and profound significance. Beyond simply recognizing and honoring, this activity also demonstrates the concern, recognition, respect, and gratitude of the Party Committee, government, and people of the city towards the intellectual workforce.

Comrade Nguyen Khac Toan affirmed that the city always pays attention to and will continue to create an increasingly favorable environment for the team of science and technology intellectuals to develop their professional capabilities. The city wishes to continue to accompany the team of intellectuals in scientific research, in innovation activities, digital transformation, training high-quality human resources and international cooperation so that every useful idea and project has the opportunity to be put into practice, serving the people and the development of the locality.
