The two leaders were pleased with the solid foundation of people-to-people connections between the two countries as the Vietnamese community in Australia is growing and making many positive contributions to the common development of Australia as well as bilateral relations.
On the other hand, although on a smaller scale, the Australian community in Vietnam is an important factor promoting economic connections, scientific and educational cooperation.

The General Secretary proposed that the two countries expand cooperation in human resource and labor development, especially high-skilled workers as well as experts and scientists.
The two countries need to implement science and technology cooperation programs and expand talent exchanges, creating conditions for young scientists and entrepreneurs of the two countries to exchange and cooperate in pioneering fields. This is a potential field of cooperation, especially important because Australia has advantages in scientific research and Vietnam has determined to innovate its growth model based on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
Meeting with the Governor-General of Australia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared his good impressions of his visit to Australia in March 2024, including the upgrading of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership - a historic turning point, opening a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries.

The Prime Minister suggested that both sides promote bilateral trade to reach the target of 20 billion USD and double two-way investment within the next 2-3 years; expand cooperation and investment in potential areas such as minerals and essential minerals, rare earth, and renewable energy.

The Prime Minister also asked Australia to support Vietnam in building a national population database and a national data center; support capacity building training for Vietnamese officials and civil servants; and continue to encourage universities such as RMIT to expand their branches in Vietnam.
The Governor-General said that Australian businesses want to increase investment opportunities in Vietnam through the Investment Promotion Offices established in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; and agreed to strengthen cooperation on cyber security.
Meeting with the Governor-General of Australia, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed Vietnam's consistent policy of always valuing and wishing to promote relations with Australia; highly appreciating the achievements of cooperation in all fields, especially legislation.

The National Assembly Chairman suggested that Australia facilitate and continue to accompany Vietnam in the new development period, expand cooperation in green economy, digital economy, science and technology, innovation, renewable energy; continue to increase the aid budget, expand the Government scholarship program for students, support training, and improve the capacity of Vietnamese officials and civil servants...
Regarding parliamentary cooperation, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that the two sides increase delegation exchanges, high-level contacts and all-level contacts, cooperation, exchanges, and experience sharing between the two countries' legislative bodies, especially between the National Assembly Committees, friendship groups of parliamentarians, female parliamentarians, and young parliamentarians, not only on legal and institutional issues but also on monitoring the implementation of bilateral agreements...


The Australian Governor-General emphasized that Australia continues to support Vietnam in training and human resource development, and continues to provide ODA and financial and technical support to help Vietnam achieve its growth targets.
The Australian Governor-General welcomed and highly appreciated the effective cooperation between the two countries in the field of education and training, expressing his delight that Australia has now provided more than 70 scholarship programs for Vietnam.

The Australian Governor-General agreed to further promote trade and investment cooperation, cooperation on gender equality, especially cooperation in women's empowerment as well as cooperation on climate change in the Mekong Delta.
