The World and Vietnam Newspaper and Guangdong Radio and Television (China) connect, cooperate and spread information

On the afternoon of September 22, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Editor-in-Chief of the World and Vietnam Newspaper Nguyen Truong Son received Head of the Foreign Television Department of Guangdong Radio and Television Station (China) Lam Khanh Kien.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the Northeast Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tran Huy Hung and staff of the two media agencies.

Head of the Guangdong Radio and Television (GRT) External Television Department, Lam Khanh Kien, expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam for the first time, and affirmed that the working session with the World and Vietnam Newspaper was the delegation's first activity in the journey to promote cooperation with the press and media agencies of the S-shaped country, demonstrating the respect and desire to cooperate with the Newspaper in many fields.

Mr. Lam Khanh Kien also introduced Guangdong Radio and Television Station. Accordingly, GRT is a provincial-level official media agency, integrating radio, television, internet media, mobile applications and broadcasting services. The station is operating 8 radio frequencies, 11 terrestrial TV channels, 3 digital channels broadcasting across the Greater Bay Area (including Hong Kong, Macao and Guangdong), and 5 new media platforms and social networks such as Douyin (Chinese version of TikTok), X... These new media platforms and social network accounts have more than 600 million followers, GRT's satellite TV signals also cover more than 2 billion global audiences.

The Head of the Foreign Television Department hopes that in the coming time, the World and Vietnam Newspaper and GRT promotes cooperation in content production and participates in the project "Vietnam-China Friendship Journey".

On the side of the World and Vietnam Newspaper , Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son emphasized that the working meeting between the two sides took place at a very meaningful time when the two countries had consecutive high-level delegation exchanges. Therefore, the meeting between the two countries' media agencies aimed to enhance understanding, contribute to promoting people-to-people exchanges and concretize the common perception of high-ranking leaders, practically celebrating the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year.

Expressing his impression of the scale, scope of influence and activities of GRT, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son pointed out that Vietnam and Guangdong have a close, long-standing relationship and at the same time have a lot of room for cooperation and exploitation.

The two sides highly appreciated the "matchmaking" role of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Guangzhou and Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung personally.

Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son emphasized that the Newspaper has been constantly promoting the dissemination of information as well as actively exploiting the advantages of existing information channels to maintain its position as the press agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in particular and the leading foreign affairs newspaper in general. At the same time, the Editor-in-Chief hopes that the two press agencies can cooperate extensively, bringing the flow of information closer to the people of the two countries.

The two sides agreed to promote cooperation in the coming time, such as planning to implement programs and reports on special topics; exchanging and sharing news posted on the two sides' platforms; at the same time, expanding and promoting traditional channels as well as new media platforms; thereby, increasing the spread of news and articles to the people of the two countries.

The two media agencies affirmed their readiness to accompany each other on the journey of connecting, cooperating and disseminating information, contributing to enhancing understanding and further strengthening the close friendship "both as comrades and brothers" between Vietnam and China.
