General Secretary To Lam receives NVIDIA Group Chairman Jensen Huang

On the afternoon of December 6th, at the Party Central Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received NVIDIA Chairman Jensen Huang during his second working visit to Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam welcomed NVIDIA Group Chairman Jensen Huang's return visit to Vietnam, and congratulated Chairman Jensen Huang on being honored and awarded. VinFuture Awards for outstanding contributions to the service of humanity and a better world .

General Secretary To Lam expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of Chairman Jensen Huang and his team. NVIDIA Over the past period, NVIDIA has actively collaborated with the Vietnamese government to promote cooperation and realize its commitment to "making Vietnam NVIDIA's second home" through the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research and Development Center and an AI Data Center in Vietnam.

The General Secretary considered this a significant milestone marking the beginning of a strategic cooperation relationship between Vietnam and NVIDIA Corporation, stating that successful cooperation with leading global technology corporations like NVIDIA in research and development, technology transfer, and the development of high-quality human resources plays a core role in helping Vietnam maximize the potential of AI to shape the future of technology and realize development goals in the new era of the nation.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that Vietnam is at a crucial juncture with revolutionary changes in thinking and methods of organizing and implementing the national development strategy in the new era; the Vietnamese Party and Government particularly wish to leverage the achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, considering science, technology, and innovation as the focus for transforming the growth model, developing the digital economy, and achieving sustainable development; identifying the semiconductor and AI sectors as strategic priorities to create breakthroughs in productivity and strong competitiveness, and deeply participate in the global technology value chain.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his hope that NVIDIA Corporation would continue to accompany Vietnam in developing the AI ecosystem and promoting technological self-reliance; affirming that the Vietnamese Party and State consider NVIDIA Corporation a leading strategic partner in the semiconductor and AI fields, and committed to creating the most favorable conditions for the effective implementation of cooperation between the two sides, making Vietnam a new bright spot in semiconductor, AI and innovation industries in the region and the world, while contributing to the overall development of the world economy and human civilization.

Speaking at the meeting, NVIDIA Group Chairman Jensen Huang thanked General Secretary To Lam for his interest in the cooperation between NVIDIA Group and Vietnam; expressing his pleasure and strong impression at visiting Vietnam again, including the promotion of establishing an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research and Development Center and an AI Data Center in Vietnam.

NVIDIA Chairman Jensen Huang shared and agreed with General Secretary To Lam's views on the crucial transitional period the world is undergoing and Vietnam's future vision; emphasizing the particular importance of AI and other advanced technologies in restarting the current technological world, presenting a great opportunity for Vietnam to quickly access and promote the development of new industries, services, products, and business models to achieve breakthroughs, leapfrog ahead, and serve the nation's ambitious development strategy.

Regarding the potential for AI development in Vietnam, NVIDIA Chairman Jensen Huang expressed his admiration for the forward-thinking vision and strong determination of the Vietnamese Party and Government to propel Vietnam forward through science, technology, and innovation in the new era. He assessed that Vietnam's competitive advantages, especially the quality of its human resources, and its potential for the widespread development and application of new technologies, will be important drivers for an effective and expanding cooperative relationship between NVIDIA and Vietnam. He also expressed his readiness to cooperate with Vietnam in building infrastructure, education and training, supporting the community of Vietnamese AI startups, and accompanying Vietnam towards its development goals.
