General Secretary To Lam: Building a clean and strong Party organization within the military.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - General Secretary To Lam requested the Central Military Commission to pay special attention to leading the building of a clean, strong, exemplary, and outstanding Party organization within the Army.

On the afternoon of December 16th, in Hanoi , General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, attended and chaired the 12th Conference of the Central Military Commission.

Attending the conference were President Luong Cuong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with many leaders of the Party and State, and leaders of the Central Party Committees, the Ministry of National Defense , etc.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam congratulated and commended the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and all officers and soldiers of the entire army for successfully planning and organizing many practical and meaningful activities to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that in 2024, despite facing many challenges, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense led and directed the entire army to strictly adhere to the Party's leadership and the State's management, upholding the glorious traditions and noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, uniting and overcoming all difficulties.

The military continues to play a pivotal role in building a national defense system and a comprehensive national defense posture, especially a solid "people's support" posture, creating a combined strength to protect the Fatherland, strengthening the defense posture at all levels, building and improving the quality of operations of the reserve forces, militia, and self-defense forces, etc.

The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have led and directed the effective implementation of the three breakthroughs, resolutely carrying out the theme "Year of fundamentally completing the adjustment of the organization of forces towards being lean, compact, and strong," ensuring adherence to the established roadmap and plan.

In addition to the above achievements, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have effectively implemented solutions to build a politically strong army; always taking the lead in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints with a proactive spirit, systematic solutions and methods, and a large and effective participating force.

The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, in coordination with various ministries, departments, and localities, successfully directed the organization of the parade, march, and other activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, leaving a positive impression on the people and international friends.

Furthermore, the Central Military Commission has led and directed the implementation of logistics, finance, planning and investment, and defense economics, achieving many positive results; effectively implemented military science and technology, and defense industry work in conjunction with promoting administrative reform and digital transformation,...

Besides the achievements, General Secretary To Lam pointed out some limitations and shortcomings, and requested the Central Military Commission to focus its leadership and guidance on solutions to overcome them.

The General Secretary requested the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to comprehensively lead and direct the implementation of the identified tasks and solutions; to lead the entire army to be proactive, perceptive, and to accurately grasp, predict, and assess the situation; to effectively fulfill its function of advising the Party and the State on flexible and successful responses to situations, avoiding passivity and surprise.

The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense need to continue to effectively promote the core role of the Army in building a national defense system based on the entire population, civil defense, building a "people's defense posture," and firmly protecting the airspace, sea areas, borders, inland areas, and cyberspace.

The General Secretary noted that the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense need to actively innovate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of building a politically strong army; consistently do a good job in political and ideological education, and continue to do a good job in mass mobilization work.

Along with leading the successful implementation of central political tasks, breakthroughs, and regular duties, General Secretary To Lam requested the Central Military Commission to pay special attention to leading the building of a clean, strong, exemplary, and outstanding Party organization within the military; to meticulously prepare in all aspects and organize well the Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term and the 12th Congress of the Party Committee of the Military.
