The conference was held to help regional tax authorities grasp the overall and consistent content of upgrading information technology (IT) applications to serve the direction and operation of tax management as well as deploy measures to ensure enhanced safety and security of information systems.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Taxation Dang Ngoc Minh said that in 2023 and early 2024, the General Department of Taxation has implemented many contents to upgrade IT applications to meet the amendments and supplements to policies, operations and management requirements of tax authorities.
In particular, the tax sector has deployed the work of connecting with the national population database to review and clean up tax registration information of individuals; integrating the eTax Mobile application with the VNeID application and adding features to support taxpayers in looking up information on dependents and sources of income when making tax finalization; implementing the tax refund process applying risk analysis; and implementing the calculation of late payment fees.
At the same time, the research and application of initiatives through 19 tools that the Tax Departments have built themselves to deploy nationwide, such as collecting information on e-commerce platforms, issuing decisions to enforce tax debt collection in bulk, controlling personal income tax settlement information, etc., has brought the Tax sector a fairly synchronous system of software applications in administrative management and tax management.
“The conference is requested to focus on discussing the contents according to the conference agenda to effectively deploy IT applications in tax management. Maximizing the use of application software systems and data to ensure information security will be an effective tool to support tax agencies and tax officers in handling assigned tasks well,” emphasized Deputy General Director Dang Ngoc Minh.
According to the program, the conference will take place from May 20 to 22. Within the framework of the program, the organizing committee will also spend time exchanging and discussing implementation experiences, difficulties and obstacles in the process of applying IT to serve tax management and support taxpayers; at the same time, record recommendations and proposals for effective implementation of IT application in the coming time.
After the conference in Binh Thuan province, from May 27-29, the General Department of Taxation will continue to organize a training conference for 31 Tax Departments of northern provinces and cities in Lao Cai province.
