Vinatrans General Director resigns due to “too much instability in the working environment”

The leader of Vinatrans said that the working environment is no longer suitable for her to work and contribute more energy to the company.

Vietnam Foreign Trade Logistics Joint Stock Company (Vinatrans; UpCOM: VIN) has just announced unusual information about receiving a resignation letter from the company's General Director.

In the petition, Ms. Le Hoang Nhu Uyen, General Director of Vinatrans, stated the reason: "The working environment is too unstable, no longer suitable for me to work and contribute more effort to the company."

Vinatrans General Director resigned because the working environment was no longer suitable for her to work and contribute more energy to the company.

Ms. Uyen said she is satisfied and honored to have worked at Vinatrans for over 28 years. In particular, over the past 3 years, Vietnam Steel Corporation - Joint Stock Company (VNSTEEL; UPCoM: TVN), the parent company that owns more than 95% of Vinatrans shares, has promoted her to a senior management position at Vinatrans.

Ms. Le Hoang Nhu Uyen was born in 1973, originally from Ho Chi Minh City, has a bachelor's degree in Economics, majoring in Foreign Economics, and a bachelor's degree in Science, majoring in English.

She joined Vinatrans in 1996 and has been with the company for more than 28 years. At the end of February 2021, Ms. Uyen was appointed General Director of Vinatrans.

Vinatrans is known as a state-owned enterprise, equitized since 2007, with a charter capital of 255 billion VND. Its main business activity is logistics. At the end of November 2010, the Ministry of Industry and Trade transferred the right to represent the State capital ownership of Vinatrans from the Ministry of Industry and Trade to the Vietnam Steel Corporation (VNSTEEL) for management.

The value of the State's investment capital in Vinatrans transferred to VNSTEEL for management is more than 243 billion VND, accounting for more than 90% of the charter capital. The number of State shares transferred is more than 24.3 million shares. After the transfer, Vinatrans becomes a subsidiary in the VNSTEEL system, supporting the Corporation to be more proactive in transportation activities, transporting billets, scraps, and products from seaports to factories to the market.

It is known that at Vinatrans, Ms. Uyen represents VNSTEEL owning more than 7.2 million shares (more than 28%) and personally owns 6,000 VIN shares.

However, due to the reason that the working environment is too unstable, no longer suitable for working and contributing more effort to the company, Ms. Uyen asked for permission to quit her job at VNSTEEL and Vinatrans from June 17, 2024.

Regarding business performance, in the first quarter of 2024, Vinatrans recorded net revenue of more than VND 28 billion and pre-tax profit of nearly VND 10 billion, down 14% and 15% respectively over the same period last year.

In 2024, the Company plans to have revenue of VND130.6 billion and pre-tax profit of VND16.5 billion, down 1% and 18% respectively compared to the previous year. The Company said it has signed a contract with tobacco customer BAT and has the opportunity to increase revenue from providing services to domestic customers in 2024.

However, the Company did not win the bid to provide services in 2024 for some major customers such as ABI, Number One Ha Nam , Number One Chu Lai and some customers in 2023 such as Nissin, Toan Phu... have stopped using the service.

Therefore, this year, the company completed phase 1 divestment at Vietway, VNT Logistics, Vinatrans Da Nang and implemented phase 2 divestment of Vinatrans' investment capital restructuring project at Agility Vietnam, Vinafreight, Vector.
