Ukrainian President quickly congratulated

(CLO) Politicians and leaders around the world have begun to congratulate Donald Trump after he declared victory in the 2024 US presidential election. This almost ended the chances of Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris winning.

Here are the reactions of world leaders to the news of Mr. Trump's victory:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Netanyahu wrote on X: "Dear Donald and Melania Trump. Congratulations on the greatest comeback in history! Your historic return to the White House opens a new beginning for America and a strong commitment to the great alliance between Israel and the United States. This is a huge victory!"

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy

"Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump on his impressive election victory!

I recall the wonderful meeting with President Trump in September, when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-US strategic partnership, the Victory Plan and ways to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

French President Emmanuel Macron

"Congratulations, President Donald Trump. Ready to cooperate as we have done for the past four years. With your trust and mine, with respect and ambition, for more peace and prosperity," Macron wrote on X.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer

"Congratulations to President-elect Trump on your historic election victory. I look forward to working with him in the years ahead. As our closest allies, we stand together in defense of our shared values of freedom, democracy, and enterprise."

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte

"I just congratulated Donald Trump on his election as President of the United States. His leadership will once again be pivotal in keeping our Alliance strong. I look forward to working with him again to promote peace through NATO strength," he said in a post on X.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer

Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini

President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban
