According to RT , Ukrainian President Zelensky met with President Trump at the White House on August 18, 3 days after the Russia-US summit in Alaska took place.
President Zelensky hailed this meeting with President Trump as the best they have ever had. During the meeting, the US and Ukrainian leaders discussed potential security guarantees (for Kiev) and the path to peace with Russia.
"I want to thank President Trump for this meeting. This was the best meeting we've ever had, this is very important," Mr Zelensky told reporters outside the White House.

The Ukrainian leader added that he had briefed US officials on the situation on the battlefield, outlining “who really controls each area”. The sides described the discussion as a positive step towards reaching a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
"Our main goal is a strong and lasting peace for Ukraine and Europe," President Zelensky said, stressing that he was ready for a potential meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

President Putin has previously said he is ready to meet Mr Zelensky once peace terms are ready for signing.
Russia has insisted it favours a lasting peace rather than a temporary ceasefire and has insisted that Ukraine must abandon its claims to the newly annexed territories and abandon plans to join NATO.
President Zelensky confirmed that the talks in Washington discussed a possible land swap, but reiterated that Kiev would not be ready to cede any territory or recognize Russia's new borders.
