Provincial Party Secretary Le Truong Luu speaks at the conference

In 2023, production and business activities of enterprises will face difficulties, the market will shrink, orders will decrease, inventories in the processing and manufacturing industry will increase; the real estate market will be sluggish, and economic growth will be lower than expected. In that context, budget revenue and expenditure in 2023 will still achieve many remarkable results.

Total state budget revenue in the area reached 11,350 billion VND, exceeding 14.35% of the estimate (9,926 billion VND), of which revenue from import-export activities reached 679 billion VND, exceeding 22% of the estimate, up 8% over the same period, basically completing the target set at the beginning of the year.

Speaking at the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Le Truong Luu acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Finance - Treasury - Tax - Customs sector in the past year.

The Finance inter-sectoral agencies have proactively promoted effective coordination between sectors and commercial banks, well organized the management of State budget revenues; accurately and promptly regulated budget levels according to regulations; actively supported and promptly resolved procedures related to State budget revenues and expenditures.

The provincial State Treasury has also strictly controlled state budget expenditures, strictly publicized the disbursement of capital for basic construction investment, serving the direction and administration of the provincial People's Committee and competent authorities.

2024 is an important year, a decisive breakthrough year to successfully implement the goals and tasks of the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025; especially completing the goal of turning Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-run city.

Accordingly, Thua Thien Hue sets the following targets: GRDP growth rate reaches 8.5-9.5%; local budget revenue increases by 12% compared to 2023 (equivalent to 12,700 billion VND); export turnover increases by 10-12% or more, equivalent to 1 to 1.1 billion USD.

Provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate the results of the implementation of the State budget tasks of the Finance sector.

To achieve this goal, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the Finance - Tax - Treasury - Customs sector to promote the achieved results; strive to overcome all difficulties; be more determined in advising, directing and operating; be proactive and creative in implementing the goals and tasks of 2024, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 16th Provincial Party Congress and Resolution 54 of the Politburo, turning the whole province into a centrally-run city by the end of 2024 and early 2025.
