With more than 73km of coastline, over 150km² of sea surface and dozens of large and small islands, Cam Pha possesses many favorable conditions for developing sea and island tourism with a system of islands, bays, and natural beaches stretching and rich in ecological value. In particular, the southern sea area of the city adjacent to Bai Tu Long Bay is the focus of developing a new tourism space.
To exploit that potential, the city has developed a tourism development plan until 2025, with a vision to 2030. In particular, it focuses on expanding tourism space to the South, developing sea tourism connections with Ha Long City, Van Don District and tourist islands such as Quan Lan, Minh Chau, Ban Sen... This is a step to concretize the province's plans and projects on developing tourism products associated with Bai Tu Long Bay - an area considered a "green gem that has not yet awakened" next to Ha Long Bay.
To realize the orientations, Cam Pha has actively implemented activities to survey, review and investigate tourism resources in the Bai Tu Long Bay area, thereby connecting, evaluating and building suitable products. The city has proposed and developed new tourist routes, including: Overnight tour route on Bai Tu Long Bay from Vung Duc to Hon Xep Park - a model similar to overnight tours on Ha Long Bay but with its own unique characteristics.
Along with that, the locality coordinated with Ha Long City and Van Don District to build tourist routes and overnight anchorages on Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long, including 4 itineraries: Cam Pha Port and Wharf - Luong Ngoc Beach - Vung Duc - Ong Cu Island - Reu Island - Cua Ong; Luong Ngoc Beach - Vung Duc - Ong Cu Island - Reu Island - Cua Ong - Tay Hoi Island - Ban Sen; Reu Island - Ong Cu Island - Vung Duc - Luong Ngoc Beach - Ngoc Vung Island - Thang Loi - Quan Lan - Minh Chau Island; Hang Co (Thien Canh Son) - Hang Thay - Hang Cap La - Vong Vieng - Tung Ang Ecological Area - Cong Do Island - Hon Xep Park - Cam Pha (Hon Dua - Vung Duc - Ong Cu Island - Reu Island - Cua Ong).
At the same time, the city closely coordinates with relevant departments and branches such as Culture, Sports and Tourism, Construction in surveying resources, assessing potential, advantages and disadvantages to form the basis for systematic and long-term investment. To standardize services, improve transportation and accommodation capacity at sea, the city also calculates the plan to develop a tourist fleet of 50 to 80 vehicles, including about 20 accommodation ships serving tourists staying overnight on the bay.
In addition to developing marine tourism products, Cam Pha is aiming to form a modern, friendly and sustainable coastal tourism urban area. One of the important highlights is the construction of a service park space - a central beach, notably the Vung Duc tourist park complex - an area planned to become an attractive cultural and coastal resort destination. The city is also planning a southern urban area of about 1,000 hectares into a Sea Square, with a landscape axis - the symbol of Cam Pha urban area, playing the role of the new "face" of tourism of the city in the future.
In order to create a development boost, Cam Pha is supporting investors to implement many dynamic projects such as: Eco-tourism and eco-urban area 4B (Cua Ong ward); Bai Tu Long 1 tourism and service urban area (Cam Thanh ward, Cam Binh), Tourism service complex in Quang Hanh, which has attracted many hot mineral resort and high-end health care projects. These projects not only contribute to the completion of tourism infrastructure but also help to clearly shape the identity of Cam Pha's coastal tourism urban area in the future.
Expanding the sea tourism space to the South not only helps Cam Pha City effectively promote the advantages of natural resources, but also opens up a new direction in tourism development associated with the marine economy . With thorough preparation, determination of the government and consensus from the community, Cam Pha tourism is having positive movements, promising to become a new bright spot on the tourism map.
