Hai Phong City adds the name of the late Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh to the street name bank.

On November 26, Hai Phong City People's Committee issued a decision to add 182 names to the Project of the Bank of Street Names, Roads, and Public Works in the area.

Comrade Le Van Thanh, when he was Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Hai Phong City, spoke at the 16th Hai Phong City Congress, term 2020-2025.

Accordingly, there are 70 names of famous people who have contributed to the country and Hai Phong city; 104 names of famous places with typical historical and cultural meanings and values ​​of the locality, place names that have been used since ancient times and have been deeply ingrained in the subconscious of the people; 6 names of historical and cultural relics and scenic spots with typical national and local values; 2 names of historical events with typical local values.

The list of additional street names includes the name of the late Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh (1962 - 2023).

Late Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh was born and raised in Tan Lien commune, Hai Phong city (now Vinh Bao commune, Hai Phong city). He was the former Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Council; member of the Party Central Committee of the 12th and 13th terms; and a delegate of the 12th National Assembly .

In 2021, he was elected Deputy Prime Minister for the 2016-2021 term. After a period of serious illness, he passed away on August 22, 2023 at his home, at the age of 61. During his work, he was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the Party and the State, the National Emulation Fighter and many other noble medals and orders.
