(NLDO) - On December 5th, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee sent a document to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requesting permission to organize a fireworks display for the 2025 New Year's Day.
Accordingly, in order to serve the recreational needs of the people and tourists during the New Year's Eve celebration in 2025, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense to grant permission for Ho Chi Minh City to organize a fireworks display for the New Year's Eve celebration in 2025.
Ho Chi Minh City requests permission from the central government to hold fireworks displays to celebrate New Year's Day 2025 at three locations.
Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City proposed three fireworks display locations: one high-altitude location at the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel in Thu Duc City; and two low-altitude locations at Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11 and Van Phuc Urban Area in Thu Duc City.
The fireworks display will take place from 00:00 to 00:15 on January 1, 2025. Funding will come from social contributions.
To welcome the new year 2025, in addition to the artistic fireworks display, Ho Chi Minh City plans to organize a countdown program to welcome the new year 2025 on the night of December 31, 2024, at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, Ben Bach Dang park, and the floating logo on the Saigon River.
Simultaneously, art performances will be organized in Districts 12, Tan Phu, Binh Tan, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Nha Be, and Can Gio on the nights of December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025, respectively.
In addition, the city will also organize sporting events to welcome the new year 2025, such as the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Marathon 2025, the International Martial Arts Festival, and a cycling race to welcome the new year 2025 on Mai Chi Tho road…
