The Office of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just conveyed the conclusions of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong, who chaired a recent meeting of the Steering Committee for the entrance examinations for the 2026-2027 school year and the Steering Committee for the 2026 high school graduation examination in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the conclusion, Ho Chi Minh City is operating under the conditions of a newly reorganized locality following the administrative unit restructuring. Each exam has a scale of over 150,000 candidates, which has been determined to be the largest ever.
The development of technology also increases the risk of high-tech cheating in exams, posing many challenges for the education sector and local authorities.
The City People's Committee requests relevant units to improve organizational capacity, coordination methods, and collaboration. Thorough review and training should be provided for staff, supervisors, and exam organizing committees. Communication must be proactive, timely, and accurate to avoid causing anxiety and confusion among parents and students.
The People's Committee of the city assigned the Department of Education and Training (GD-ĐT) the task of acting as the standing agency to absolutely ensure that no student lacks a place to study or a room to take exams under any circumstances.
The Department of Education and Training of the city is tasked with developing and training flexible and proactive response plans for unforeseen situations such as candidates arriving late, forgetting documents, technical problems, etc. In particular, a hotline will be established to provide timely support and prevent delays in handling situations that could affect candidates' rights.
In addition, the Department of Education and Training, in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology and the Center for Digital Transformation, is building a digital map of examination locations throughout the city, updating and publicly disclosing it so that parents, students, and the public can easily monitor and supervise the process.
The city police force was tasked with deploying personnel to ensure security and order at examination sites, and to intensify efforts to detect and prevent high-tech cheating. They were also to develop traffic management plans and provide assistance to candidates in getting to examination sites in case of traffic jams or unexpected incidents.
