Ho Chi Minh City: From April 10, you can register your 10th grade entrance exam online

On April 4, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced that starting from April 10, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will open an online registration portal for candidates to take the entrance exam to grade 10 public high schools in the 2023-2024 school year.

According to a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the online registration portal will open from April 10 to May 8. Thus, candidates participating in the 2023-2024 public grade 10 entrance exam will have 28 days to register their wishes to high schools in the city. After the registration period ends, the Department will compile, review, and synthesize the candidates' wishes.

It is expected that on May 12, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will announce the registration data of candidates' first choice. After that, if candidates need to adjust their choice, they will have 7 days to adjust. The adjustment of candidates' choice will take place online and start from May 15-21. According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, students can register 3 priority choices 1, 2, 3 to take the entrance exam for grade 10 at public high schools (except Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted and High School for the Gifted under Ho Chi Minh City National University). The Department of Education and Training of the City also reminds students to choose to register their choice near their place of residence, to avoid the case of being admitted but not submitting their application; students are not allowed to change their choice after the time allowed to adjust their choice and after the admission results are available. Based on the enrollment quota of each school, based on the number of candidates registering for each choice and the admission scores, the Department of Education and Training will review and announce the benchmark scores of each school according to the principle that the benchmark score for the second choice is not lower than the benchmark score for the first choice; the benchmark score for the third choice is not lower than the benchmark score for the second choice. The student's admission will be based on the three choices that the student has registered in order of priority, from choice 1 to choice 2 and choice 3.

Students who do not pass all three wishes can register for grade 10 admission at Continuing Education Centers, Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers, private schools or participate in other types of education and training. According to statistics, in the 2023 - 2024 school year, the whole city will have over 100,000 junior high school graduates and the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place over two days from June 6-7.
