On August 19, at Dam Sen Cultural Park, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association - Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Tourism Club, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Department of Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association, Dam Sen Cultural Park and Sacotravel jointly organized the program "Arms of love, wings of dreams - Firm steps to school".
End of summer fun
From the early morning of August 19, buses have been taking disadvantaged children, orphans due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and disabled children from all communes and wards in Ho Chi Minh City to Dam Sen Cultural Park to participate in the program "Arms of love, wings of dreams - Firm steps to school".
Here, the children not only get to interact and receive gifts from the organizers, but also have a full day of fun, freely exploring the colorful world of childhood. The swings, dragon rides, frog jumps, childhood merry-go-rounds, speed merry-go-rounds... today suddenly have an unusually large number of visitors. These are special "guests", experiencing it for the first time and in dire need of love and protection.
BTC gave gifts to children at the program.
Ms. Bui Thi Manh Quy, Head of the Women's Association of Trung Thanh Hamlet (Binh Gia, Ho Chi Minh City), who is in charge of taking care of and picking up the children in the commune to participate in the program, said: "Although my group gathered at 4:30 a.m., the children all had smiles on their faces and were eager to participate. For them, today's trip is a whole fairy world."
"Binh Gia Commune has 10 children participating, most of them are orphans, and rarely have the opportunity to travel far. This is the first time they have set foot in Dam Sen. The sparkling eyes and bright smiles of the children made me very emotional. I just hope they have more beautiful memories, so that their childhood will be less deprived," Ms. Quy confided.
The children were excited to receive gifts.
Joining Ms. Quy's group were two sisters, Phan Le Thanh Khai (4 years old) and Phan Le Thanh Truc (7 years old). Their mother passed away shortly after giving birth to Khai during the Covid-19 pandemic, and they both currently live with their grandmother who is over 70 years old. Their father works as a factory worker, and their life is difficult, so they rarely get to go out.
"I'm very happy today, I like the swing and the bouncy house the most, I've never been to such a big and beautiful place", little Truc shyly shared with her clear eyes shining with happiness.
The children divided into small groups to visit and have fun at Dam Sen.
Not only Binh Gia, many other wards and communes in Ho Chi Minh City are also busy bringing children to participate in the program. Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Nga, Vice President of the Women's Union of Tan Uyen Ward (Ho Chi Minh City), said: "As soon as we received the document, we made a list of orphans and children in difficult circumstances and directly contacted each parent to confirm. The children were very excited, at 5 am they were all gathered to depart. Hopefully this will be a beautiful memory for the children at the end of summer."
Motivate for the new school year
This year's program, titled "Arms of Love, Wings of Dreams - Firm Steps to School", is not only a place for joy, but also a place to support dreams and aspirations. The bright smiles on innocent faces, the sparkling eyes when playing games, eating ice cream, sitting on the giant Ferris wheel... are beautiful proof of the meaning of the program.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Loan, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, presented gifts to disadvantaged and orphaned children.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Loan, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, emotionally shared: "Today's festival not only brings joy and gifts to children, but also sends a loving message that every child deserves to be respected, listened to, and encouraged. Ho Chi Minh City is determined not to leave any child behind."
The Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union sent a message to the children: "Smile brightly, nurture your pure dreams and enter the new school year with faith and aspiration. You are the pride and the flame of love of this city and country. Your family, teachers and community will always be there to support you and help your dreams fly high and far."
An Association officer guides children in participating in games.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Dang Hong Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, emphasized that this is an annual activity in the "Circle of Love" series. The program hopes to bring children in special circumstances a bustling childhood festival, while connecting love from the business community and social organizations.
Childhood Smile
"Most of the children today are orphans, disabled children, and children in difficult circumstances. Although each child has their own disadvantages, they all share the same simple dream: to play, study, and grow up in loving arms. We hope that today's joy will give them more strength to be confident in the new school year, nurturing their aspirations for a bright future," said Mr. Hong Anh.
The children lined up neatly to move to the playgrounds.
On this occasion, the organizers presented more than 1,000 gifts including cash and school supplies to the participating children. Sponsored tickets for all-inclusive entertainment at Dam Sen Park. But the value greater than a trip is the warm childhood memories, souvenir photos with friends and the belief that there are always loving arms around them. It is from that belief that the children will step more confidently into the new school year, nurture their aspirations to rise up, and continue to spread love to the community.
