The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training emphasized the importance of ensuring the effective implementation of the pilot program on artificial intelligence (AI) education for high school students and completing the evaluation of the implementation before May 30th.
The remaining secondary schools ensure 100% implementation of integration into subjects and educational activities within the General Education Program and the integration of artificial intelligence education goals into their educational plans.
For schools that have met the conditions for implementing artificial intelligence education content for secondary school students, they should proactively choose appropriate implementation methods and integrate artificial intelligence education goals into their educational plans.
According to the leaders of the Department of Education and Training, the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) education content for high school students aims to contribute to the formation and development of core competencies in learners.
This content also equips students with foundational knowledge and basic application skills in artificial intelligence; and simultaneously develops the necessary qualities for using artificial intelligence safely and responsibly in their studies and daily lives.
In addition, the pilot implementation of artificial intelligence education content will serve as a basis for research, summarization, evaluation, and proposing appropriate implementation plans for each level of general education in subsequent school years.
Nevertheless, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training still requires schools to ensure consistent implementation nationwide; while also promoting proactiveness, flexibility, and adaptability to the conditions of each locality and educational institution in organizing the implementation.
"The implementation will not change or overload the general education curriculum. The content and activities of artificial intelligence education must be designed to suit the age group, needs, and technological accessibility of students at each grade level," the implementation guidelines from the Department of Education and Training emphasize.
The Department also emphasized that schools need to have appropriate solutions so that all students, especially those in areas with difficult socio -economic conditions, have the opportunity to access artificial intelligence education.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has four specialized high schools: Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School, Le Hong Phong Specialized High School, Hung Vuong Specialized High School, and Le Quy Don Specialized High School. In addition, there are 100 schools recognized as "numbered schools" by the People's Committee and 69 schools implementing high-quality, advanced, and regionally and internationally integrated education programs.
