Ho Chi Minh City: Top scorer in the 10th grade entrance exam achieves 29.25 points.

After the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the results of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year, the top scorer was revealed with a total score of 29.25 points. Specifically, the candidate with the highest total score in the three subjects of Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language in this year's 10th grade entrance exam (for regular 10th grade admissions) is Vu Ngoc Bich.

In that exam, the candidate scored 9.25 points in Literature; and 10 points in both Mathematics and English.

This candidate also achieved the highest score in the Literature exam in this year's entrance exam. Thus, compared to the 2022-2023 public high school entrance exam, the two candidates with the highest total score in the three subjects achieved 29 points.

For the specialized 10th grade entrance exam, Pham Quoc Binh achieved the highest score with 46.75/50 points (including 8 points in Literature; 9.75 points in English; 10 points in Mathematics and 9.5 points in the specialized subject).

Next, contestants Nguyen Bao Han and Huynh Quang Phu both achieved 46/50 points.

Compared to the 2022-2023 public high school entrance exam, the number of candidates achieving the highest total score in the specialized program this year is lower than last year. In 2022, the highest total score achieved by a candidate in the specialized program was 48.75 points.

Candidates taking this year's 10th grade entrance exam at Phan Tay Ho Secondary School examination center (Go Vap district).

According to statistics from nearly 96,000 candidates, in English, 2,147 papers received a perfect score of 10, accounting for 2.22% (in 2022, only 478 candidates achieved a perfect score in this subject).

In addition, 32% of the exam papers received excellent scores (8 points or higher). This is also the subject with the highest number of papers scoring 8 points or higher in this year's entrance exam.

For the Literature subject, the highest score achieved by 27 candidates was 9.25 points. In addition, 272 candidates scored 9 points and 7 candidates scored 0 points. Approximately 90% of the exam papers scored above average, with 12% scoring 8 points or higher.

Meanwhile, for Mathematics, statistics show that 121 candidates scored 10 points, while 165 candidates received a score of 0. In addition, nearly 55% of the Mathematics exam papers scored above average, with the majority of scores concentrated in the 5-7 point range.

According to a representative from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, candidates can submit their appeals from June 21 to June 24 at the junior high school where they studied in 9th grade.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training is expected to announce the results of the review on June 30th.

On June 24th, the department continued to announce the cutoff scores for admission to specialized and integrated 10th-grade classes, as well as the results of direct admissions.

From June 25th to 29th, candidates admitted to specialized, integrated, and direct-admission 10th-grade classes must submit their enrollment documents at the school they have been admitted to.

The cut-off scores for admission to public high schools are expected to be announced on July 10th.
