500kV Vinh Yen transformer station meets the electricity needs of industrial parks

Delegates performed the inauguration ceremony of the Vinh Yen 500kV Transformer Station and connecting lines.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Comrade Nguyen Hoang Long, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Comrade Tran Duy Dong, Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the National Power Transmission Corporation and related units.

The 500kV Vinh Yen Transformer Station Project and connecting line include 2 900MVA transformers, each transformer is connected from a combination of 3 single-phase transformers, capacity 300MVA; construction of 500kV and 220kV feeder bays; construction of 2 connecting lines 4.7km long.

The 500kV Vinh Yen transformer station and connecting line, when completed, will be connected to the 500kV Hiep Hoa-Son La and Hiep Hoa-Viet Tri lines, which will be the transit point between thermal and hydroelectric power sources from Son La and Lai Chau hydroelectric plants and thermal power clusters in the Quang Ninh area.

The transformer station will also be connected to the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen Line after the line is completed, promptly releasing power from small hydropower plants in the northwest region and importing electricity, contributing significantly to ensuring electricity in the northern region in the following years.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong warmly commended and congratulated the collective leaders, officers, engineers, workers of the electricity sector, functional agencies, authorities and local people where the project passes through for joining hands, being unanimous, united, and making efforts to overcome all difficulties, completing the project on schedule, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency.

The project is of great significance, contributing to strengthening energy security, improving the stability, safety and operational efficiency of the northern and national power systems, while meeting the increasing load demand, especially directly serving key industrial parks around Vinh Phuc area such as Ba Thien I, II; Binh Xuyen I, II; Thang Long Vinh Phuc; Khai Quang; Nam Binh Xuyen and industrial parks.

Comrade Pham Le Phu, General Director of EVNNPT said: The project is honored to be selected by the Government as one of 80 typical projects to be started and inaugurated today. This is the pride of EVN staff in general and EVNNPT in particular, and is a great motivation for EVNNPT to strive to complete the assigned tasks.
