However, Dick Jaspers showed more courage, while Tran Quyet Chien made some mistakes in the decisive shots. As a result, the Dutch player turned the situation around, winning the semifinal match 50-48 after 30 shots.

Tran Quyet Chien finished in third place, and Dick Jaspers, after reaching the final, immediately defeated his Korean opponent Heo Jung Han.

The final score was 50-33, after 20 rounds, in favor of Dick Jaspers. The world's number one player won the 3-cushion carom billiards World Cup for the first time, in the Ho Chi Minh City round.

Also after the tournament in Ho Chi Minh City, Dick Jaspers maintained his world number one position. The 60-year-old Dutch player has won a total of 32 World Cups.
