Dinh Ngoc Diep's concerns when 'Detective Kien' is released on April 30th

On the afternoon of April 23, the premiere of the movie "Detective Kien: Headless Case" took place in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of director Victor Vu, producer Dinh Ngoc Diep, and actors Quoc Huy, Quoc Anh, Minh Anh, People's Artist My Uyen, Quoc Cuong...

Sharing about the journey of creating the work, director Victor Vu said: “From the beginning, I have cherished the desire to bring a unique historical detective story, possibly the first work of this genre in Vietnam. This is a dream I have pursued for a long time. If the audience continues to love Detective Kien, I am very excited to expand this character's journey in the future.”

Returning to the role of Hai Man, Dinh Ngoc Diep could not hide the pressure: “I am worried that myself and Mr. Quoc Huy may not be attractive enough to attract audiences to the theater like the young faces. I am also wondering whether the film can break even, especially when this year's holiday season has many great and excellent works competing. This project really makes me feel a lot of emotions.”

Even though the film has very emotional scenes between Hai Man and Detective Kien (Quoc Huy), Victor Vu's wife still maintains the viewpoint of "not stirring up couples to attract attention".

“There may be controversies, but Victor has never thought of using PR or marketing to manipulate the audience’s emotions. If there is anything out of the ordinary, it is definitely not our intention.

As for Minh Anh and Quoc Anh, Minh Anh is only 17 years old and still in school. We are simply brothers, close as a family. We don’t need to “pair up” or create tricks to promote the film. To me, doing so is no different than deceiving the audience.”

Minh Anh and Quoc Anh - the two actors who play a couple in the film also spoke about their relationship on set. Minh Anh shared: “On set, we completely immersed ourselves in the roles of Nga and Thac, focusing on performing our best for the characters. When we step out, we are close friends, always supporting each other. Everything is very natural and there are no problems.”

Meanwhile, Quoc Anh added: “During the entire working process, Minh Anh and I, as well as other co-stars, always maintained a spirit of respect and focused on work. In real life, we are normal friends, close like brothers.”

“Detective Kien: The Headless Case” is a sequel to “The Last Wife” (2023). The film’s script is inspired by the novel “Lake of Resentment” by Hong Thai, Victor Vu’s father-in-law.

With elements of detective and spirituality, the work tells the story of the journey to find Nga (Minh Anh), a girl who suddenly disappeared mysteriously. This journey becomes more difficult when more and more suspects and mysterious details appear, pushing the story into tense situations.
