On the morning of May 2, the rally to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) was solemnly held at the "Antonio Jose de Sucre" International Youth Leadership Training School, Caracas, Venezuela.
Attending the ceremony were Vice President for Foreign Affairs of the ruling United Socialist Party (PSUV) Rander Peña; Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia, Middle East, and Oceania Tatiana Pugh; President of the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship House Carolus Wimmer; leaders of the Venezuela-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group, and representatives of Venezuela's ministries, agencies, and mass organizations.
On behalf of the President of the PSUV Party, President Nicolas Maduro, Vice President in charge of foreign affairs of the PSUV Party Rander Peña sent warm congratulations to the Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam on this important historical event.

Mr. Rander Peña emphasized that the Great Victory of Spring 1975 was a victory of justice, of progressive forces and peace-loving people around the world, including the Venezuelan people. The great victory on April 30, 1975, associated with the name and career of the great President Ho Chi Minh and the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam , has been, is and will continue to be a source of inspiration for peoples around the world fighting for independence, freedom, self-determination, justice and social progress.
On this occasion, PSUV Vice President Rander Peña called on the young generation of Venezuela and Latin America, especially students of the International Youth Leadership Training School “Antonio Jose de Sucre”, to follow the example of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, to strive, be exemplary, pioneer, and become a shock force in the struggle for social justice and progress.

Speaking at the ceremony, Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Tatiana Pugh said that as Venezuelan Ambassador to Vietnam for the 2020-2023 period, she had the opportunity to learn and research deeply about Vietnamese history, Ho Chi Minh's ideology and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
According to Ms. Tatiana Pugh, the reality of the past 95 years has affirmed that the wise and correct leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh's ideology are the leading factors deciding all victories of the Vietnamese revolution and the great victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country is one of the typical examples.
She emphasized that the resilient and heroic fighting spirit of the armed forces and the entire Vietnamese people created an invincible strength, leading to the August Revolution in 1945; followed by the Dien Bien Phu Victory "resounding throughout the five continents, shaking the earth" and the peak was the Great Spring Victory in 1975, bringing Vietnam into the era of national independence and socialism.

Reviewing the historical significance, causes of victory and historical lessons of the Great Victory of Spring 1975, Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My respectfully thanked the countries, governments, movements, organizations and people who love peace and progress in the world, including the people and progressive forces of Venezuela, for their enthusiastic support and valuable spiritual and material support for Vietnam's just struggle for national independence and national reunification.
Ambassador Vu Trung My emphasized that after 50 years of victory and nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation process, Vietnam has now achieved important achievements in all fields; the country's potential in all aspects has been enhanced, and Vietnam's prestige and position have been increasingly enhanced. Vietnam is entering a new era, an era of national growth, prosperity, civilization and prosperity.

On this occasion, the Government of Venezuela also issued a statement congratulating the Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam. The statement emphasized that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people completed the mission of completely liberating the South and unifying the country; the victory on April 30, 1975 is a brilliant milestone in contemporary world history; a beacon of inspiration for people around the world to fight against oppression. The Government of Venezuela expressed its admiration for Vietnam in the struggle for national liberation and in the construction of socialism.
Also on the occasion of this important event, Venezuelan press and media widely and vividly reported on the Victory of April 30, 1975; Ambassador Vu Trung My gave interviews to Venezuelan Central Television (VTV), Globovision, Venevision, Venezuelan Military Television and a number of local newspapers and stations.
