Specifically, teacher Le Hoang said that on the morning of May 26, he received a phone call from a former teacher, with a sad voice about the costumes of 12th grade students, Bao Loc High School for the Gifted, Bao Loc City, Lam Dong . The former teacher sent a picture of a group of 12th grade male students of this school. In the picture, the students are wearing suits. The former teacher commented: "12th grade students, if you look at them, they look several years older, losing all the 'shape' of an 18 year old" and "Not to mention that many of the children's families are in difficult circumstances, so making a suit is too much for them".

On May 26, Bao Loc High School for the Gifted had not yet held a coming-of-age ceremony. Teacher Le Hoang asked a 12th grade student studying at Bao Loc High School about students wearing suits to the coming-of-age ceremony. The student confirmed: "Yes, that's right!" and added that he was "a bit hesitant about renting clothes, because the price is quite expensive for some students". He sincerely told teacher Le Hoang: "Actually, I still like trousers and shirts, they are closer to students than suits and such".

Teacher Le Hoang said that as a teacher who has organized gratitude and maturity ceremonies for many years, he was concerned when students wore suits to their maturity ceremonies. Firstly, when choosing suits for high school students, it is necessary to carefully consider both the color and style. Because they are young, dynamic, full of ambition and dreams. Choosing a suit for a gratitude and maturity ceremony like a suit for a U.50 or U.60 student is difficult to suit.

Second, according to teacher Le Hoang, the organization of the gratitude and maturity ceremony needs to be fun, associated with the age of students; teachers, parents and students, an occasion to sit together full of emotions, to love the past days more, and for the coming days to be more beautiful. The costumes for the gratitude and maturity ceremony can be flexible, depending on the conditions of each class, each parent, but how can it not add to the financial burden for parents. If a part of students and parents worry about where to get money to rent and make costumes, then feel stuffy and sad, the gratitude and maturity ceremony will no longer be fun, cute, and emotional.

Third, teacher Le Hoang believes that the school age weaves many beautiful things when female students wear long dresses, male students wear blue pants, white shirts, and a few outfits during experiential activities. Gratitude and maturity ceremonies are to mark, to remember, to cherish the time of white shirts carrying books to school, it is not necessary to wear vests, to cause disappointment in a part of teachers, students, parents...

Should students wear suits to their graduation ceremonies or what other clothes are appropriate?

Teachers and former students share with Thanh Nien Online their perspectives on costumes for gratitude and coming-of-age ceremonies.

The emotional coming-of-age ceremony at Tay Thanh High School, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City recently had male students wearing white shirts and female students wearing white ao dai.

Mr. Pham Van Cuong, Vice Principal of Tay Thanh High School, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City said: "Up to now, when organizing a gratitude and coming of age program at Tay Thanh High School, students only need to wear the school uniform. For female students, it is the ao dai, for male students, it is the white school uniform. In my opinion, the important thing in the ceremony is that the school needs to design the script and prepare the content to suit the space, time and participants. The budget for organizing the coming of age gratitude ceremony must be as economical as possible, not too flashy or elaborate, but not too simple or out of place."

Mr. Pham Le Thanh, a teacher at Nguyen Hien High School, District 11, Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his opinion: "The ceremony outfit is also an important part, but the most expensive thing is not the best. In my opinion, consider your financial ability and prioritize comfort and the true meaning of the ceremony. The gratitude ceremony is an opportunity for students to thank their teachers and families and look back on their time at school. And the school uniform is the symbol associated with that memory."

"School uniforms are also very good and suitable for all family circumstances, avoiding waste on clothes that are only worn once and creating solidarity and equality. Uniforms remind students of friendship and memories at school. If students really love it and have the conditions, vests are a good choice to show maturity, a milestone of the starting point for the journey to adulthood. But it should be flexible so that no one is pressured about costs," said Mr. Pham Le Thanh.

Students in Ho Chi Minh City said that most schools require students to wear uniforms at graduation ceremonies. Recently, students at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted wore uniforms at their graduation ceremony. During the coming-of-age ceremony, female students at Nguyen Hien High School in District 11 wore white ao dai, while male students wore trousers and shirts.

At the closing ceremony and graduation ceremony for 5th graders at Tran Khanh Du Primary School, District 1, 5th graders wore tunics to take souvenir photos with their teachers.

Mr. Bui Long, a former student of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, said that on the coming-of-age ceremony, all students at this school wore uniforms. Previously, the school also created conditions for 12th graders to wear tunics for yearbook photos.

Recently, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City also issued a document, requiring schools to organize gratitude and maturity ceremonies with the aim of expressing gratitude to grandparents, parents, and teachers for the intellectual and personality growth of students, creating beautiful and profound memories for final year students... The ceremony needs to take place in a joyful and lively atmosphere, achieving the goalof educating students' awareness when participating, but not being ostentatious or formal, causing waste.
