On June 7, the People's Committee of Long An province held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision and award the "Fatherland attribution" certificate to relatives of Martyr Nguyen Xuan Hao, Lieutenant Colonel Duc Hoa district traffic police who died while on duty to prevent and arrest drug criminals.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Lam Minh Hong, Director of the Long An Provincial Police, acknowledged the sacrifice of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hao, and shared the loss and grief with the relatives of Comrade Hao.
Before the sacrifice of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hao, Long An Provincial Police launched a campaign among officers and soldiers of the Provincial Public Security to learn from Comrade Hao's example of sacrifice so that the Long An police force could continue to strive, study, practice, and work very well, wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly to serve the Fatherland and the people.
As reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, on April 21, the police of Duc Hoa district coordinated with functional agencies to patrol and control on provincial road 4, the section through My Hanh Nam commune (Duc Hoa district, Long An) to catch criminals transporting drugs. When the functional forces signaled to stop the pickup truck 824C-49 circulating from the border area towards Ho Chi Minh City for administrative inspection, the driver did not comply but crashed into Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hao, causing Lieutenant Colonel Hao to die.
The car continued to rush forward, hitting Huynh Nguyen Chi Man (29 years old, ward 2, district 5, Ho Chi Minh City) and Phan Thi Kim Thanh (50 years old, Tan Thoi Nhat ward, district 12, Ho Chi Minh City) to death.
When the vehicle overturned, the two suspects locked the door, not complying with the request of the law enforcement force. People and authorities had to use a tree to pry the car door to get the two suspects out.
Conducting an inspection on the car 49C-296.01, the authorities discovered that 5kg of suspected meth and 4 wheels of suspected heroin were seized. Searching at the residence of the related subjects detained 3 other subjects and seized an additional 1kg of suspected ice and 14 cakes of suspected heroin.
As a result of the initial investigation, Nguyen Van Thanh was the driver who directly operated the car carrying Huynh Trung Hieu (32 years old, Loc Hiep hamlet, An Ninh Dong commune, Duc Hoa district, Long An) transporting drugs, stabbing Lieutenant Colonel Hao, Mr. Man and Ms. Thanh died.
The investigative police agency served the decision to prosecute the accused and ordered temporary detention for Nguyen Van Thanh (46 years old, living in An Ninh hamlet, An Ninh Tay commune, Duc Hoa district, Long An) to investigate the crime of murder and detain 4 other people related to the act of illegally trading and transporting drugs.

After Lieutenant Colonel Hao died, the Ministry of Public Security decided to promote the rank from Major to Lieutenant Colonel for Martyr Nguyen Xuan Hao.
Before the sacrifice of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hao, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang signed the Decision to grant the Fatherland Degree in recognition of Martyr Nguyen Xuan Hao, and Lieutenant Colonel Duc Hoa District Traffic Police died while on duty to prevent and arrest illegal drug traffickers.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee Huynh Van Son handed over the Prime Minister's Decision and awarded the certificate of "Fatherland attribution" to the relative of Martyr Nguyen Xuan Hao.
On this occasion, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Long An province gave a decision on monthly allowances to the relatives of Martyr Nguyen Xuan Hao.
