Awards presented for the beautiful photo contest on the theme of ethnic minorities.

(BLC) – On the afternoon of January 20th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a ceremony to summarize and award prizes for the 2024 Lai Chau Province Ethnic Minority Photography Contest.

The event was attended by: Ms. Dao Thi Thanh Nhan – Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Mr. Tran Manh Hung – Acting Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism ; representatives of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association; and the award-winning authors.

The competition, launched from October 11, 2024 to November 15, 2024, received attention and guidance from all levels and sectors, as well as close coordination from various units. The preparation and organization were scientific and thorough, with the attention and coordination of agencies and units in promoting the event, and the participation of the authors. The competition successfully discovered many beautiful images of the land, people, and unique, rich, and distinctive culture of the ethnic groups in Lai Chau, thereby raising the community's sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting their identity. The competition also served as a valuable platform for photography enthusiasts to create, introduce, and promote works on ethnic themes, aiming to honor the beauty of Lai Chau.

After the implementation period, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism received 39 photo sets and 304 individual photos from 25 authors inside and outside the province. The Department selected and awarded prizes to 11 photo sets and 24 individual photos from 13 authors. Specifically, the photo sets had 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 5 consolation prizes; the individual photos had 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 10 third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes.

Comrade Dao Thi Thanh Nhan - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - presented the second prize to the authors who won the photo series award.

Speaking at the closing ceremony and awards presentation, Mr. Tran Manh Hung, Acting Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, praised and acknowledged the contributions of the authors who have produced many beautiful photos to introduce and promote Lai Chau. He expressed his hope that in the future, the authors will continue to develop their qualities and abilities, participate in more competitions to produce more beautiful photos in various categories, contributing to preserving cultural identity, developing tourism, and bringing the image of Lai Chau to tourists from all over the world.
