Awarding Certificate of Merit to brave young man who saved drowning person

- On the afternoon of June 4, the Standing Committee of Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union organized an extraordinary award ceremony for comrade Nguyen Xuan Bien, a member of the Youth Union of Residential Group 2, Na Hang Town, for his brave act of jumping into the rushing water to save people.

Previously, on June 2, when Mr. Bien was on his way to deliver fish and was about to return home, he passed the hard bridge of residential group 2, Na Hang town, and saw many people shouting that there was a drowning victim. Without hesitation, Mr. Bien jumped into the water, swam around the rapids and approached the victim.

According to local people, although located at the foot of the Tuyen Quang hydroelectric plant dam, at this time the water level on the Gam River was quite high, the water flowed rapidly, and swimming to rescue people was extremely dangerous. With great difficulty, Mr. Bien was able to approach the victim and move more than 100m to the area of residential group 4, Na Hang town, before bringing the victim to shore.
