Many meaningful activities

Implementing the "Godmother Program," women's associations at all levels in the province have actively connected with and mobilized agencies, units, businesses, organizations, and individuals to sponsor and support orphaned children in difficult circumstances. From 2021 to 2025, the province provided monthly financial support to 23 children orphaned due to Covid-19 and over 1,000 children orphaned due to other causes. From the beginning of 2026 to the present, local associations have continued to mobilize support for 78 new orphaned children, with amounts ranging from 200,000 VND to 1 million VND per child per month. This contributes to alleviating difficulties and creating conditions for better care for these children.

Za Thi Khanh Ngan (Buon Dung village, Tay Ninh Hoa commune; Ede ethnic minority) is one of six children sponsored by the Tay Ninh Hoa Commune Women's Union, receiving a monthly support of 200,000 VND. Ngan's family is in difficult circumstances; for many years, her mother had to borrow money from everywhere to pay for her grandmother's medical treatment. After her grandmother passed away, the two of them relied on each other, their lives mainly depending on farming and her mother's seasonal work. "I am very happy to be sponsored by the Women's Union. The monthly support helps me have better conditions for studying and helps my mother cover living expenses," Ngan shared.

In addition, women's associations at all levels also pay attention to the health care of children. In the 2025-2026 school year, the Women's Union of Nam Nha Trang ward donated 123 health insurance cards worth over 31 million VND to students of primary schools in the ward. All the funding came from contributions by officials and members of the women's association. Among the students receiving health insurance support is Nguyen Trong Minh (Dat Lanh residential area, Nam Nha Trang ward). His mother passed away when Minh was only 15 days old, and he was raised by his great-grandparents. They mainly earn their living by collecting scrap materials and with the support of relatives. Besides Minh, they also raise two other grandchildren, making the family's life even more difficult. Receiving health insurance support not only helps Minh access healthcare but also reduces the financial burden on his family, allowing him to focus on his studies.

Diverse forms of support

Since the beginning of the year, through the association's funding, various initiatives, and the contributions of benefactors, the association at all levels has organized many practical activities such as: awarding scholarships, giving gifts, bicycles, school supplies, and organizing exchanges and recreational activities for children. Through these efforts, the association has awarded 463 scholarships, 7,552 gifts, 620 sets of clothing, and 575 notebooks… to disadvantaged children, children with disabilities, and children in shelters, coastal areas, and ethnic minority communities, with a total expenditure of over 2 billion VND.

In addition, women's associations at all levels organize numerous training courses, communication activities, seminars, exchanges, legal knowledge competitions, and thematic talks; integrating content on child care, protection, and education into their activities. For example, at the end of May, the Women's Union of Cam Lam commune organized a thematic talk on the responsibility of protecting and caring for children; preventing and combating child abuse, violence, and injuries; and protecting children in the online environment. Through this, women members, parents, and children were equipped with necessary knowledge and skills, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of families and communities in the work of caring for and protecting children, and building a safe and healthy living environment for children's development.

Ms. Nguyen Hoang Van Ha, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, stated that in the coming time, the Women's Union at all levels will continue to mobilize resources to care for and support children, especially orphans, children in difficult circumstances, and children in ethnic minority areas. At the same time, they will strengthen propaganda and raise awareness among families and communities about child care and protection. Through this, they will spread responsibility and encourage the collective efforts of the entire society in caring for and nurturing the future generation of the country.
