On June 3rd, the People's Committee of Ea Rốk commune ( Đắk Lắk province) announced that functional forces had successfully controlled a "mad" buffalo that had gored people, injuring four.
According to initial reports, on the morning of June 2nd, a female buffalo belonging to a resident in Ea Rốk commune showed signs of panic, lost control, and attacked several people.
The incident left four people injured and hospitalized, and caused anxiety among residents in the area.
Immediately after receiving the report, the People's Committee of Ea Rốk commune coordinated with the Center for Elephant Conservation, Animal Rescue and Forest Management and Protection of Dak Lak province and the Command of Defense Zone 3 in Ea Súp to implement a plan to handle the situation and ensure the safety of the people.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities used a tranquilizer gun to subdue the animal. The buffalo was then safely brought under control and returned to its owner.
According to the leaders of Ea Rốk commune People's Committee, the cause of the buffalo's unusual behavior is being investigated and clarified by relevant authorities in coordination with other agencies.
"Of the four people hospitalized for treatment, three have been discharged so far. The remaining case is expected to be discharged this afternoon," the leader informed.
The victims' health is currently stable. The incident continues to be monitored and handled by the authorities in accordance with regulations.
