The appearance of Bai Tranh commune is becoming increasingly modern and attractive.

The power of growth...

We visited Bai Tranh commune during the historic month of May. In the commune's concentrated fruit-growing area, spanning nearly 60 hectares, lush green orange and pomelo orchards have been creating jobs for many local laborers and generating economic benefits.

With the advantage of over 2,500 hectares of natural land, including fertile agricultural and forestry land with a thick topsoil layer, Bai Tranh is suitable for large-scale agricultural and forestry development, especially fruit tree cultivation. In addition, Bai Tranh has two important transportation routes running through the area: the Ho Chi Minh Highway and the connecting road between Nghi Son Port and the Ho Chi Minh Highway, facilitating regional connectivity and the development of service businesses.

Bai Tranh commune currently has 1,348 households with 5,145 inhabitants, mainly comprising four ethnic groups: Kinh, Thai, Tho, and Muong, living together in unity. Over 20 years since its establishment and development, following the Party's reform policies, cadres, Party members, and the people of Bai Tranh have joined hands to build a more beautiful homeland. Currently, infrastructure such as electricity, roads, schools, and health stations have been completed. The economy has experienced remarkable growth, with a production value increase rate of over 12%. The lives of the people have continuously improved. Me and Choi Tron villages have risen out of the category of particularly disadvantaged villages. The commune's economic structure has now undergone positive and correct shifts, maximizing the potential advantages of the local land and human resources.

Along with economic development, the culture and education of Bai Tranh commune have also made remarkable progress. The entire commune now has three schools that have been modernized, ensuring good service for teaching and learning. The cultural identity of the ethnic minority people has been restored, preserved, and promoted.

The movement of solidarity and mutual assistance in economic development, poverty alleviation, and legitimate wealth creation has been identified by the Party Committee as one of the key tasks of the emulation movements. From there, the people are regularly mobilized to effectively implement economic development policies in a rapid, strong, sustainable, and comprehensive manner across all sectors considered potential and advantages of the locality. Party building and the political system at all levels are regularly cared for and strengthened. Along with the comprehensive development of the homeland, the Bai Tranh Party Committee is also growing stronger in both quantity and quality. The role of the Fatherland Front and other mass organizations is promoted in propaganda and mobilization work, encouraging members to be exemplary leaders in patriotic emulation movements, creating consensus among the people.

Join hands to build new rural areas.

A highlight of the Bai Tranh area is the New Rural Development movement, which has received the consensus and support of the entire political system. In 2012, Bai Tranh was selected as one of 117 pilot communes in the province to implement the national target program for New Rural Development. The Party Committee and the government reviewed the criteria, developed an action plan with key solutions tailored to the local situation, and paid due attention to infrastructure criteria to create conditions for socio-economic development, in line with the aspirations of the people, thus always receiving the people's support. People actively competed, contributing labor and land to build rural roads, repair and upgrade village cultural houses, beautify village roads and alleys to be green, clean, and beautiful, creating flower-lined roads to create a friendly environment and a livable countryside, competing to complete the New Rural Development criteria, achieving 2-3 criteria each year. In 2015, Bai Tranh was recognized as a commune meeting the standards of the New Rural Development program.

Building on the achievements, the Party Committee, government, and people continue to build advanced new rural areas with the motto "Building new rural areas has only a beginning, no end." With a total mobilized budget of 185 billion VND for the new rural area construction program in the 2021-2024 period, 88% of main village roads and alleyways have been concreted, 14.5 km of residential area lighting has been upgraded and newly constructed; 7 new cultural houses have been built, 3 village cultural houses have been renovated to meet standards, 2 products have achieved OCOP 3-star standard, and 2 concentrated safe vegetable production areas have met VietGAP standards. 10 out of 10 villages have achieved the new rural village standard, including 5 villages recognized as model new rural villages. Therefore, in 2023, Bai Tranh commune was recognized as an advanced new rural commune.

To date, the commune has successfully achieved the goal of building an advanced new rural commune and 5 model new rural villages. The average growth rate of production value in the period 2004-2010 reached 21%, and in the period 2011-2023 reached 20%; average per capita income increased from 3.5 million VND in 2004 to over 60 million VND in 2024, striving to reach 66.1 million VND in 2025; the poverty rate is 0.5%; and the near-poverty rate is 0.29%.
