The event took place in the land considered the "cradle" of Vietnam's oil and gas industry – where 61 years ago, a well drilled to unlock the energy potential beneath the ground, opening a path of sustainable development for Petrovietnam over many decades. More than just a commemorative event, the program also carries the meaning of honoring history, educating about traditions, and spreading the core cultural values of oil and gas workers.

In his opening remarks, Comrade Pham Quang Dung emphasized: "Today's journey back to Hung Yen is not only to look back on a historical milestone, but also to affirm the value of the foundations built with the wisdom, courage, and bravery of previous generations. From well 61 and the first gas flow, an industry has formed, gradually becoming an important pillar of the national economy and energy security."
Comrade Pham Quang Dung expressed his wish that previous generations would continue to "open their hearts to share," passing on experience and the flame of enthusiasm to the younger generation. The combination of the intellect and courage of the previous generation with the aspirations and energy of today's generation will create sustainable internal strength for Petrovietnam in the new development phase.
As part of the program, the delegation offered incense in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh and visited the Red River Delta Oil and Gas Memorial Area. This is one of the "red addresses" preserving valuable artifacts and documents about the formation and development of the industry. The images, mementos, and stories recounted not only recreate a difficult period but also evoke pride in a journey of overcoming all hardships to seek and exploit energy resources for the country.
Representatives of the delegation presented scholarships worth 50 million VND to underprivileged students who have overcome difficulties.
The highlight of the program was the intergenerational exchange. Stories about the early days of searching for oil and gas amidst war and hardship were shared authentically and simply by historical witnesses, yet full of weight. These were memories of self-reliance, resilience, and an unwavering will to overcome difficulties – values that have become the "DNA" of oil and gas workers. Besides the commemorative activities, the program also spread humanitarian values through social welfare activities in the locality: donating gifts to the government and people of Tran Lam ward; awarding scholarships worth 50 million VND to underprivileged students; visiting and encouraging the staff and workers of Thai Binh PSC Company...

Forty-five years have passed since the first commercial gas flow, and the journey continues. From its "cradle" in Tien Hai, Thai Binh (now Dong Chau commune, Hung Yen province), the flame of faith, aspiration, and responsibility continues to be passed down and nurtured through generations – becoming the driving force for Petrovietnam to steadily advance on its path of development, maintaining its pivotal role in ensuring national energy security and contributing to the country's development.
