According to preliminary assessments, storm No. 3 has severely affected many localities, mainly concentrated in Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Hanoi ... Initial damage includes 5 deaths; 186 injuries; 13 missing; 3,279 damaged houses; many ships sank, tens of thousands of urban trees were uprooted, more than 500,000 hectares of crops were affected, many infrastructure works were damaged....

In Lao Cai, after review, the province currently has 20,000 hectares of crops in the corn and grain development stage and ready for harvest; 16/107 reservoirs are degraded and at high risk of being unsafe. 40% of locations with potential risks of landslides, flash floods, inundation, underground overflows and river and stream bank erosion have been posted with warning signs. To date, the province has relocated and evacuated 455/520 households in dangerous natural disaster areas to safe places. At the same time, ensuring "4 on-site" in natural disaster prevention and control.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed localities to urgently overcome the consequences of the storm, search and rescue missing people, promptly fix power and communication problems, and quickly stabilize the lives of affected people. The Prime Minister also noted that the impact of the storm's circulation will be very large, with many potential risks of landslides in the northern mountainous provinces. Therefore, localities need to proactively grasp the situation, prepare means and human resources according to the "4 on-site" motto, and evacuate people from dangerous natural disaster areas to safety.
