The conference aimed to disseminate and implement leadership and guidance documents from the Central Committee, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , and the General Political Department; and to unify understanding, responsibilities, and methods of organization and implementation within the armed forces of Military Region 1, ensuring that the election process is conducted seriously, in accordance with the law, democratically, safely, and effectively.
At the conference, the functional agencies of Military Region 1 disseminated the basic contents of the guidelines for organizing the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of deputies to the People's Councils at all levels of the Military Region; the preparation of personnel, the procedures for nominating candidates and organizing the election. The focus was on strictly implementing the consultation process for selecting military officers to participate in the election, ensuring the standards, structure, and composition comply with regulations; and closely coordinating with the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the commune level in organizing voter meetings in residential areas to gather opinions and assess the trust of voters in the candidates.
The conference agreed on matters related to the division of polling areas; the establishment of polling stations at agencies and units within the Military Region's armed forces. Simultaneously, it outlined specific measures for protecting internal political security , maintaining political security and social order, ensuring absolute safety at polling stations in units and localities where troops are stationed; and promoting propaganda and education to create a vibrant atmosphere of emulation and raise the political awareness and responsibility of officers and soldiers throughout the Military Region.

Speaking at the conference, Major General Duong Van Quang, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 1, requested that agencies and units closely follow the election plan and schedule of the National Election Council, in which the voting time is expected to be from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on March 15, 2026.
According to the plan, the entire Military Region will establish 22 polling stations, with nearly 10,000 military personnel participating in the voting process in the provinces of Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lang Son, and Bac Ninh.
The Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region emphasized that the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels is a particularly important political event. Therefore, agencies and units need to continue to thoroughly understand the documents from higher levels; organize training for officers and soldiers involved in election work; strengthen coordination with local Party committees and authorities; and do a good job of preparing in all aspects to ensure the successful organization of the election within the Armed Forces of Military Region 1, contributing to the overall success of the election nationwide.
