A decade of construction and development

The school's beginnings in the 2015-2016 school year were incredibly memorable, with only 12 teachers and staff, 3 sixth-grade classes with 79 students; the facilities were very limited, consisting of a three-story building with 9 classrooms; there were no administrative offices, subject classrooms, functional rooms, fences, or concrete playgrounds.

With the close attention and guidance of the education sector and local authorities, the support of parents, and the determined efforts of teachers and students, the school has overcome initial difficulties and gradually grown stronger. Today, it has a spacious, clean, and beautiful facility that meets the basic requirements of teaching and learning in the context of modern education.

After 10 years of operation, Tan Thinh Secondary School has consistently strived to improve the overall quality of education in a sustainable manner. The school boasts numerous teachers and staff members who have received commendations and awards from various levels; many students have won provincial-level prizes in academic and sports competitions; the quality of general education remains stable, and the school consistently ranks among the top 20 in the province for its high school entrance exam results.

“We are so fortunate to study in a spacious, safe, friendly environment that always encourages creativity. Here, every student is listened to, respected, encouraged to develop their abilities, and lives in pure friendship and solidarity. The first lessons, the patient correction of small mistakes, the words of encouragement whenever we stumble—all are proof of the dedication and love of the profession of the teachers,” expressed Luu Quang Hai, a student in class 9A2.

From the 2020-2021 school year to the 2024-2025 school year, the school maintained its title as an Advanced Labor Collective and an Excellent Labor Collective. In the 2022-2023 school year, the school received a Certificate of Commendation from the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen Province. In the 2023-2024 school year, the school received a Certificate of Commendation from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen City (formerly).

On July 23, 2025, the Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training issued a decision recognizing Tan Thinh Secondary School as meeting national standards. This is a significant milestone for the school's efforts and achievements in educational development.

Creating a holistic educational environment

Currently, with a total of 45 teachers and nearly 800 students, and with well-built, green, clean, and beautiful facilities including classrooms, functional rooms, and subject-specific classrooms equipped with modern equipment, Tan Thinh Secondary School has truly become a reliable and proud educational institution in the area.

In order to improve quality and effectiveness, in addition to the core tasks of implementing the educational program and professional plan, Tan Thinh Secondary School also pays special attention to creating a comprehensive educational environment by promoting extracurricular activities and clubs for learning and talent development.

Students can freely explore their passions, hone their skills, and develop themselves holistically through clubs such as: STEM (creating and applying learned knowledge to real-world situations, exploring and trying out new fields); English (improving communication skills, exploring different cultures); Junior Reporters (developing writing skills, observation skills, and creativity); Chess (developing strategic thinking, learning patience and focus); Sports (improving health, teamwork skills)...

Modern equipment helps to continuously improve the quality of teaching at the school.

To expand the learning exchange environment for teachers and students, the school also places great emphasis on international cooperation. Since 2017, the school has signed a cooperation agreement with Pungcheon High School in Andong City, Gyeongsangbuk Province, South Korea, thereby opening up opportunities for exchanging experiences and teaching methods between the two schools, as well as Vietnamese and Korean cultures.

Workshops, seminars, cultural exchanges, and programs for sharing teaching methods not only broaden students' knowledge and enhance their abilities but also contribute to building positive values of international solidarity.

Through its efforts and creativity in organizing activities, the school has created an increasingly high-quality and comprehensive educational environment, aiming to meet the requirements of modern education.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, the school principal, emphasized: “ Our greatest aspiration is to build Tan Thinh Secondary School into one of the bright spots in local education, a school where parents can confidently entrust their children, where students can maximize their potential, and where teachers can work in a professional and happy environment. We hope that each teacher will not only be proficient in their subject matter but also inspire learning; and that each student will not only excel academically but also possess strong character, compassion, and confidence to integrate into society and become a positive contributor to the community in the future .”
