Construction of Dong Thap Muoi Museum in 6 phases

The objective of the Plan is to invest in building the Dong Thap Muoi Museum at the Go Thap relic site to display, promote and introduce the cultural heritage, nature and people of Dong Thap Muoi region to domestic and foreign tourists.

Construction of Dong Thap Muoi Museum with 6 main stages

At the same time, honor and enhance the historical and cultural values ​​of Dong Thap Muoi region in general and Dong Thap province in particular, contributing to building a culture and people of Dong Thap that are affectionate, dynamic and creative.

According to the Plan, the construction time of Dong Thap Muoi Museum is expected from April 2025 to July 2027 with 6 phases.

Specifically, phase 1 is expected to last from April 2025 to April 2026 and is divided into 5 phases, including: Establishing an Advisory Council - Experts to advise on contents related to the construction of the Dong Thap Muoi Museum; Developing and completing the Project, Plan, and budget estimate for the implementation of the Dong Thap Muoi Museum construction project; Establishing a Steering Committee, a Provincial Science Council, and specialized groups to assist in the implementation of the Dong Thap Muoi Museum project according to regulations; Appraising the budget estimate, approving implementation; Developing the Project; submitting to the competent authority for approval of the Project to build a new Dong Thap Muoi Museum.

Phase 2 is expected from May 2026 to February 2027 and is divided into 6 stages including: Establishing and approving the Bidding Plan to implement the Investment Project for the construction of Dong Thap Muoi Museum; Organizing a bidding to select a consulting unit with capacity and experience to develop an outline and design for the exhibition of Dong Thap Muoi Museum; Developing an outline and design plan for the exhibition of Dong Thap Muoi Museum; Organizing a scientific workshop to collect opinions from experts and scientists on the content of the outline and design plan for the exhibition; Completing the outline and design plan for the exhibition to submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for appraisal; Completing the outline and design plan for the exhibition according to the opinion of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to submit to the competent authority for approval of the outline and design plan for the exhibition.

Phase 3, expected from June 2026 to November 2026, will carry out the collection of additional documents and new artifacts, document and digitize artifacts, repair and restore documents and artifacts according to the approved exhibition outline. Develop a project and organize training for civil servants and public employees to manage and operate the Dong Thap Muoi Museum. Organize a bidding process to select a qualified and experienced consulting unit to carry out the architectural design of the Museum.

Phase 4 is expected to last from December 2026 to June 2028 and is divided into 3 phases: Organizing a scientific workshop to collect opinions from experts and scientists on the architectural design of the Museum. Completing and submitting to the competent authority for approval; Organizing a bidding to select a contractor to build the Dong Thap Muoi Museum according to the architectural design; Organizing the construction of the Dong Thap Muoi Museum according to the approved architectural design and display plan.

Phase 5 is expected to be completed in July and August 2028 to request the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to issue a document confirming eligibility to establish a public museum according to regulations and establish the Dong Thap Muoi Museum.

Phase 6 is expected to inaugurate the Dong Thap Muoi Museum in September 2028 and put it into service for visitors.

The Provincial People's Committee requests assigned units to proactively implement the Plan to ensure quality, efficiency and on time as prescribed.
