On May 14th, the Department of Information and Statistics, in collaboration with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and the Science , Technology and Communications Publishing House, organized the 2026 Science and Technology Book Exhibition with the theme "Knowledge - Building a Digital Nation".

Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the exhibition.
This event is held in response to Vietnam's Science, Technology and Innovation Day (May 18th), and also creates a forum to connect knowledge, technology, and the research community in the context of strong digital transformation.
The exhibition is organized using a model that combines books, data, technology, and interactive experiences, aiming to spread a reading culture in the digital environment; promote the dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge; and strengthen the connection of the science, technology, and innovation ecosystem to serve the development of the digital economy and digital society.
The highlight of the exhibition is the series of thematic spaces designed to be open and interactive. In particular, the "Journey of Scientific and Technological Knowledge" space showcases exemplary scientific publications, ranging from traditional printed materials to modern digital resources and academic databases, recreating the process of forming and disseminating scientific knowledge through various stages of development.
The technology demonstration and experience space offers opportunities for direct access to new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR), robotics, STEM, and many digital transformation solutions developed by the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.
In addition, the digital resource space introduces a system of domestic and international scientific databases provided by the Department of Information and Statistics to the research and training community. Readers have the opportunity to access reputable international scientific knowledge sources such as ScienceDirect, SpringerNature, IEEE, ProQuest, and SAGE.
The exhibition space of science and technology publishers showcases many specialized publications with academic and practical value, contributing to promoting reading culture and disseminating knowledge in the community.
One of the notable activities at the opening ceremony was the announcement that the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology has officially connected to ScienceDirect, a leading global academic database. This is considered a significant step in enhancing the school's research, training, and international integration capabilities.

The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology has officially been connected to ScienceDirect, a leading global academic database.
Currently, in addition to the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology has purchased access to the ScienceDirect database for seven major higher education institutions in the country, including Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; Hanoi University of Technology; Thai Nguyen University; Hue University; Da Nang University; and Can Tho University.
Mr. Tran Dac Hien, Director of the Information and Statistics Department, stated that in the context of science, technology, and innovation becoming the core driving force of national growth, access to high-quality international scientific knowledge sources is of particular importance to university research and training institutions.
The effective utilization of scientific databases not only directly supports research activities, international publications, and the training of high-quality human resources, but also contributes to enhancing the competitiveness and international integration of Vietnamese higher education institutions.
According to Mr. Tran Dac Hien, based on the stable allocation of additional funding for the ScienceDirect database, the Department of Information and Statistics proactively negotiated with the provider to expand the scope of benefits under limited budget conditions. As a result, in 2026, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology will be added as a new member of the ScienceDirect database network without incurring additional costs.
Besides the exhibition, the program also includes many activities for students and the general public interested in science and technology, such as book introduction seminars, the "Knowledge Wheel" mini-game, STEM exchanges, digital technology experiences, and exploration of digital resources.
The exhibition will be open for two days, May 14-15, 2026, at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, serving faculty, lecturers, students, researchers, and the general public interested in science, technology, and innovation.
